Well, the Legally Blonde event was cancelled (ahhh!!!) but the Spring Awakening performance on Good Morning America was awesome!!!

As a huge Broadway fan...I just want to share 2 important events going on this week:



Tomorrow, there will be an MTV taping for the Legally Blonde Musical, to find the new Elle Woods...as Laura Bell Bundy will be leaving soon. I am so excited to be going to this event tomorrow. Sorry to say, my lips are sealed, so you will have to either go or wait till this airs on MTV to find out who the new Elle is!



This Thursday, the cast of Spring Awakening will appear on Good Morning America! During & after the appearance, you can catch fans handing out flyers around the studio as well. If you haven't read my interview with cast members from Spring Awakening, click here.

Elizabeth Smart, 5 Years Later

If you do not already know, I am very passionate about resolving or at least decreasing the issue of missing children.

Today is the 5 year anniversary of the day that Elizabeth Smart was reunited with her family after a 9 month abduction. You can view her 5 Years Back Interview with her family at ABC.

Today made me break out my high school senior research paper, which I wrote about and titled "America's Solution: The Outbreak of Missing Children." I just have a few notes to share with you from my paper as well as useful links.

What You May Know:

On May 3, 2007, Madeleine McCann, 4 went missing from a Portugal apartment her parents were staying at. She has yet to be found.

On January 12, 2007, Shawn Hornbeck, 11 at the time of disappearance and William Ownby, then 13 were found by authorities in the apartment of then 41 year old Michael Devlin in Kirkwood, Missouri. Shawn was reunited with his family after nearly 4.5 years of captivity. William was reunited just days after his disappearance.

On May 30, 2007 Natalee Holloway went missing in Aruba on her senior trip. There has been much controversy over this case as to how everything played out the night of her disappearance. Rest in peace Natalee.

What You May Not Know:

What I found most astonishing sharing my paper with my senior class was that the majority of the class did not know that the AMBER ALERT was named after Amber Hagerman, who was abducted outside of her Texas home at the age of 9 in 1996. Rest in Peace.

Over 797,500 children go missing every year in just America. (NCMEC)

Hayden Panettiere is the first spokesperson of 2SMRT4U campaign to promote online safety. I am proud to say I have my 2SMRT4U ring. My favorite author, Jodi Picoult wrote a book in 2005, Vanishing Acts about growing up in one life and finding out your own parent kidnapped you and raised you in another. Aly & AJ's 2005 album, Into The Rush has a song titled "I Am One Of Them" dedicated to missing and exploited children.

The last White House conference regarding missing and exploited children took place in 2002. I thought America cared about our children. I hope whoever is elected for President this November takes more time to help decrease the number of missing children.

I could go on and on about this topic, so I will end here. Think about what I have written please and do not take it lightly.

One Tree Hill Hits 100th Episode

Next Tuesday, One Tree Hill will air its 100th episode! Congratulations! One Tree Hill has been a favorite show of mine since the first moment I saw it. As a writer, I look up to Mark Schwahn and all of the writing staff that have been involved with the show since its start. It did not take long for me to fall in love with all of the story lines intertwined so perfectly. All of the characters have been created so delicately, so vulnerable, so real. The paths that are taken among the main characters show the positive and negative, not just what we want to see. That is so refreshing. Then, at the end of season 4, when many were unsure if skipping the college years for season 5 would be a smart idea, I had faith. Look how far this show has come and it is still amazing. The fan base is not only huge but so united and really connect with not only the characters, but the actors as well. The actors care about their fans. The show is genuine in all forms. So I just want to thank everyone that is part of One Tree Hill, all the fans for keeping it going, and Mark, for giving back to the fans in so many ways. Thanks and Congratulations on making it to the 100th episode. To 100 and many more.

High School Confidential

High School Confidential premiered on WE TV tonight.

It's an 8 part documentary, 4 years in the making, following 12 girls who attended Northwest High School in Overland Park, Kansas from 2002 to 2006.

Don't get it twisted...this is not a light reality show like MTV's Laguna Beach. These girls are documented through everything from pregnancy to attempted suicide. It's deep. Period.

Tonight, we met Lauren and Cappie.

Lauren goes into high school with her head held high, joining the drill team and enjoying life. She is then faced with the reality of having a brain tumor. Lauren ends up having brain surgery, but the experience teaches her that anything can happen to anyone.

Cappie is the daughter of a single mother with hard feelings toward her father. She goes into high school shy at first but soon falls into the crowd and is known as the party girl shortly after.

The concept is amazing but the first episode could have been edited better, to bring out more significance. I was hoping for a deeper emotional level like MTV's True Life or ABC's Extreme Makeover Home Edition. Based on the promotion for this, I expected more, so I hope to see more in the coming episodes. If you want to reach people, you gotta know what to show. I'm not sure what went on in the editing room, but I hope it gets better.

High School Confidential airs on Mondays at 10pm Eastern Time.

Big Brother 9 Madness

Wow. The best episode of Big Brother 9 aired tonight.

It all went down during the 2nd half. Allison & Ryan were evicted by a vote of 3-0 (yay!) but as if that weren't enough, the BIG TWIST came when Allison & Ryan couldn't open the door to leave! Allison was jumping up and down and so excited that she wasn't leaving until she heard what the twist was. Ha!



Julie then announced that Big Brother is no longer "Til Death Do Us Part."

Whoaaaaaaaaa. Oh My Goodness.

Everyone voted Allison out over Ryan...and for good reason. Au revoir Allison.

I didn't think it would happen but it's about time! They are playing as individuals now!!! As it should be but what a twist. I really thought they would be couples til the end. Then, it only got better.

Ryan & Adam were the final two playing for HOH and Ryan won! I kind of wish Adam had won so Sheila would have been voted out next week but Ryan will do fine.

The best part was when Julie announced that the audience could go online and vote for one of the evicted couples to come back! Jacob, Jen, Parker, Amanda, Alex or Allison will be returning!!! It better not be Jen or Allison. I really want Alex to return.

We shall see!!!

Drew Barrymore

If you have not already heard, Drew Barrymore announced on Oprah that she donated one million dollars to the World Food Programme. WFP's goal is to feed 10 million hungry school children in Africa by Thanksgiving.

Drew became involved with WFP in 2005 and became an Ambassador of WFP since 2007. She created a documentary on her trip to Africa, which you can view a snippet at her official website.

Currently, Drew has 3 films in production as well as a TV show, Shoot To Kill on VH1 where her role is not actress but executive producer.

American Idol Charity Show

I have not followed American Idol this season but there is one date that I will mark on my calendar.

It has been announced by FOX that the 2007 "American Idol" charity event that raised $76 million to benefit underprivileged children will be returning this season. It will air live on April 9 with an all star lineup, with names still being added in the coming weeks!

You can expect to see Bono, Brad Pitt, Miley Cyrus, Fergie, Eli Manning (Go Giants!) John Legend, Mariah Carey, Annie Lennox, Reese Witherspoon, Snoop Dogg, Chris Daughtry and a favorite of mine, Carrie Underwood.

Angels & Demons...The Da Vinci Code Success?

Currently I am reading Angels & Demons, the prequel to the New York Times #1 Bestseller, The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown. I enjoyed reading The Da Vinci Code and was excited for the film's release. But it got me to thinking. If the 2009 movie release of Angels & Demons is anything like The Da Vinci Code film, I must say that I am not anticipating it.

The Da Vinci Code film made over $750 million worldwide. The only reason I think it did so well was the controversy around the book causing all of the anticipation. I had a feeling the film would not be as good as the book but it did not even meet my semi-hopeful expectations. I was highly disappointed.

The book kept me awake all night reading page after page and yet I found myself falling asleep during the film. There was just nothing exciting about the film. Director, Ron Howard played it way too safe and stuck to Brown's vision all to well, leaving no thrill in the film for the readers whatsoever. If you have not read the book, the film is entertaining... for anyone who likes a Tom Hanks guided mystery in a dull adventure (talk about oxymoron) lasting 2 hours and 29 minutes. With Howard tied to the prequel film, I can't say I will be spending another 10 bucks just to fall asleep again.
