TV Week In Review

*Reviews May Contain Spoilers*

Desperate Housewives - Me & My Town Airs Nov 30th

Terminator SCC - Strange Things Happen at the One Two Point

Derek: I love you but don't push it.

So I love how everything seems to stop when Cameron says something. I laughed after Cameron walked in the house, said “Cromartie’s body is not in Ellison’s backyard” and left. When Derek said, “I love you but don’t push it” to Jesse, man I wish she would push it because I need her to get out of the picture. She is so annoying. Ugh. Obviously I am not a fan of this character. Dr. Sherman’s death at this point in the season flew over my head. It seemed like he would have played a slightly bigger part than he did but oh well. Switching the angle from Riley in John’s room to John in Riley’s room was great to see since it seems like she is always at his place. Is it just me or was it a disappointment the way that we found out what “strange things happen at the one two point” meant? I felt like it was so incredibly direct and left nothing for us to figure out. As glad as I was to have Cameron’s explanation, it just felt like there was no build up. Unless I am looking into this too much and it is not even that significant…although I find that hard to believe since it is the title of an episode. Ah well…anyway… Seeing Jesse and Riley together was quite the shocker. The fact that Riley was not who she seemed to be was not a shocker but the fact that she was working with Jesse was. I like Riley even though I always had a feeling that she was too good to be true. But I always thought that if that were the case, she had her own mission. I did not at all think that her mission was in line with Jesse’s (or even Cromartie’s). Depending on the way she goes about accomplishing or not accomplishing her mission depends on if I continue to like her. Also, I am anticipating the reveal of her connection to John in the future unfold in upcoming episodes. Even though James is working with Catherine, I like that he is still thinking for himself and trying to figure things out own his own. Good to know that he knows Dr. Sherman was murdered. Shirley Manson is getting better, as in more believable and comfortable in her role as Catherine. The big question of the night is not “why is James so shocked that Cromartie is alive” but “what exactly was Derek using his toothbrush for if he wasn’t using it to brush his teeth?”

Chuck - Chuck vs. the Gravitron

Chuck: You’re under arrest Jill…and I’m breaking up with you.

Is it just me or did Jill know that she was not really meant to be with Chuck from the very beginning? It seems as though she has always just used him because he was a “safe” choice to have. You know what I am talking about. Just the fact that she is a spy and Chuck has always fallen for her makes it worse. Mrs. Awesome as a nickname for Ellie’s boyfriends’ mom is pretty funny. Turkey testing was also hilarious. How funny was it when Chuck was on the phone with Jill and was convincing her that he would leave his “bodyguards” after he had found out what she was? How funny is he in every single scene? Zachary Levi is phenomenal in this role. It was hilarious when Casey was updating Sarah & Chuck on Jill and said that Jill’s 2 tickets to a concert better not be another frickin’ opera. I wonder how they filmed the scene on the ride with Chuck and the Fulcrum leader that Jill was supposed to be working with. It looks like fun. When Jill and Chuck were talking in the mirror ride, I was shaking my head at how typical that was but I loved the background music that was playing so that made it easier to watch. Chuck wanting to answer a follow up question during Jill’s lie detector test was just about the funniest thing. Morgan, Lester, and Chuck at Buy More was quite humorous. Morgan going through the trash to get the turkey and then spilling the beans on Chuck and Jill was pretty humorous too. Chuck has guts to ask Jill the questions that he asked and then on top of that with her attached to a lie detector test. That was so incredibly sad when Jill told Chuck that she did not really sleep with Bryce. We were all anticipating when the “negative” would show up on the lie detector test so when it did, it really sucked. What a rollercoaster this episode was as far as Jill being a friend and foe. Chuck being the geek that he is and overriding the system was probably the best scene, especially since he unlocked the doors for Casey and Sarah. As much as I understand Chuck’s feelings for Jill, he needs to really let her go. Hopefully when he broke up with her at the end, he meant it. It seemed genuine but you never know. Just glad that he at least knows that he is too trusting. Big Mike thinking that the enemy was a thief was pretty funny. Out of all of the shows that I watch, I laugh the most when I watch Chuck. You writers are just brilliant.

One Tree Hill - You Have Got to be Kidding Me (Autopsy of the Devil's Brain)

Nathan: You can’t measure a dream.

I was pretty grateful to not see Jamie and Sam in last week’s episode, so to see them both within the first few minutes of this episode was an “Oh yea, they are part of the show” moment. How old is Sam…like 12 and she’s bringing boys home? I am exaggerating but still, the girl has got issues. Since nothing really did happen then she could have just asked Brooke in the first place if the boy could stay over in another room. If she explained the situation and practiced trust and honesty once in awhile, Brooke would be understanding or find another way to help. This is really random but I would like to see Haley’s family and Nathan’s family altogether for a special occasion. Nathan working his way into basketball was so nice to see. Cue the “aww” moment when Sam said “I like talking to you” to Brooke. Unfortunately later on their talk is pretty awful. For Sam to find out that her friend hurt Brooke and for her to tell Brooke that it was her fault, that was a very emotional scene. I am not sure what to think of James Van Der Beek’s appearance on the show. What do you think? Is Peyton throwing away Mia (and possibly her record label along with that) because she thinks that she has cancer? If so, she needs to realize that just because she may have cancer, her life is not over yet. Mouth needs to get his act together and be a better boyfriend to Millicent. Quentin’s killer is Sam’s friend’s brother! Whoa. Owen and Millicent? Peyton’s ex and Sam? What is going on? Whatever it is, I love it! The drama ensues.

Heroes - Ch 10: The Eclipse Part 1

Claire: It hurts. I never thought I’d be able to hurt again. It sucks but it’s wonderful.

The buildup to the eclipse was perfect. I thought the anticipation would kill me but everything that led up to the eclipse was fascinating. Heroes has really gotten back on track. Elle and Sylar together are such a complete match. Kristen & Zachary work so well off of each other, their chemistry is remarkable. Of course I was wondering why the comic led Hiro & Ando to Matt, as I am sure everyone else was. Unfortunately I am not as interested in Claire’s storyline as I used to be. That is all I am going to say about that. Every scene with just Peter and Nathan I look forward to. These guys are my favorite siblings on the show and probably out of all of the shows that I watch. I just love when siblings are portrayed so well on screen. Mohinder becoming whatever he is becoming is disgusting and I do not like it one bit. Brea & Greg work well off of each other but as far as seeing their characters as a couple, I just cannot see it for some reason. Hiro being 10 years old is quite comical although I hope that is not a major conflict because it is only funny for a moment. It was pretty funny the timing of when he said “Holy Crap” twice. As far as Tracy goes, as long as there are no answers given to the triplets/Nikki/Jessica storyline, she is pretty pointless to me. Which is a shame because I just love seeing Ali Larter. I loved how each picture of the heroes were shown of the aftermath of the eclipse before it actually came. I loved the moment that each hero lost their power. I also loved how the scene was shot when Nathan fell from the sky. It was hysterical to see Matt try to manipulate without his power and Daphne’s dad thought something was wrong with him! When Daphne told her dad that “it” was happening again, I figured that my own thoughts of her being handicapped (which I had gathered from when she was introduced) would be shown soon but once it was shown, I did not expect to see what I did. I had my own thoughts that she was in a wheelchair so to see her the way she really was without her powers was actually more interesting than what I had originally thought. What was really funny was Elle and Sylar trying to tag team against Claire & HRG and both ending up getting knocked down. Claire better be okay since she can‘t go to the hospital. The cameos at the comic book store was great! Let’s see how far the writers take them. The look on Peter’s face when Nathan was taken away by the people in the forest was great! I wonder how the Haitian and Peter will save him. I really want to know if HRG was aiming at just Sylar or was going to shoot both, because he could do without both. Only time will tell! This episode is one of my favorites of this season.

Samantha Who? - The Farm

Sam: You got to die first silly.

That is hilarious that Sam didn’t know Todd was Canadian. I wonder if she cared to know before the amnesia. Dena sitting in her boyfriend’s meeting at his job was the funniest thing! I love how Andrea ignores Dena or always plays her out. They play off of each other so well. When Andrea was yelling at Chase, all of her extra body movement was pretty hysterical. Sam’s dad is truly in another world, leaving her a chicken farm. That is all sorts of messed up. Chase going into the movie theater to talk to Dena was a scene that we have all seen before in so many other shows so that was kind of disappointing to see on such a creative show. Overall, this episode was good although I would not go and tell a vegetarian to watch it, depending on their sense of humor.

90210 - Hello, Goodbye, Amen Airs Jan 6, 2009

House - Last Resort

House: Oh! Damn. I left my CT machine in my other pants.

As soon as the guy reached for his back pocket, it was on! I could not wait to see how House would react. When he said, “What seems to be the problem” did he not crack a little when he said “problem” and seem slightly taken off guard? Yet, coming back from the commercial break, House is the same old House even during a hold up! One would think he would be more cooperative and less sarcastic. I loved it when House answered the phone, “Crime scene!” I was glad that 13 was being so cooperative during the standoff but to volunteer herself was really brave. I thought it was also very brave for the nurse in pink to offer the killer to kill her instead of the kid. Hopefully most people would give their life for a kid in a stand off situation but you never know. At least the guy was giving away hostages and working with the police more than any of us would think. Shortly after House got the gun from the guy, I could not believe that House would then give the guy back the gun! I still do not understand the reasoning behind that move. The makeup department did an amazing job on Olivia in this episode. 13 finally admits to herself that she doesn’t want to die and still tells House that the guy didn’t make her take the drug instead of the truth. Hmm... House and Cuddy in a real relationship would be fabulous to see. I really loved this episode!

Privileged - All About Love, Actually Possibly Airs Dec 1st

Pushing Daisies - Robbing Hood

Lily: It makes me sick. It makes me want to stick a fork in my eye.

This show never fails to make me laugh within the very first minute. I chuckled, yes chuckled pretty loudly when the snake died because he choked on the rabbit and then the raccoons fell out of the trees when Ned brought back the 2 animals to life. A chandelier so heavy it can kill you...geez that is rough. The widow reminds me of a gold digging version of Amanda from Ugly Betty. Hearing Ned say budunkadunk was hilarious within itself. Was the scene where Vivianne was on the bench with her boy, was the backdrop supposed to be so visibly a backdrop? It was so nice that Chuck was able to go back home and look in her box her 8 year old self left. I was pretty scared for her when the shadow appeared outside the door. Lily bringing out the big gun on Dwight was awesome although her visiting Chuck’s grave…yikes. Everything is leading up to the series finale and it can really go anywhere so I am very excited. The ending of this episode was probably the best cliff hangar of the season. I am so excited for what is in store for the rest of Pushing Daisies!

Us Bloggers Are Thankful For...

I wanted to see what my favorite bloggers/podcasters were thankful for this year so I asked them! I thought it would be nice to share it with you all so their responses are below and don't forget to check out their websites/podcasts. Their links are below their statements.

What are you thankful for?

As always, I am very thankful that all of my family and friends are happy and healthy ... but this year I'm especially thankful that my girl Britney Spears appears to be happy and healthy as well. Considering the tragic year she endured last year, I'm very thankful that her life looks to be on the upswing this Thanksgiving.

One of the things that we at the Office Alliance Podcast are thankful for is great storytelling. Whether it comes from our favorite books or our favorite TV shows, our lives are enriched by creative people who hook us on exciting plots, endearing characters, or a clever turn of phrase. We're thankful these creative people share their talents with us!

First and foremost, I'm thankful for my family and friends and their presence in my life. I may not be good at letting them know but they help me get through each and every day. I'm also thankful for everyone I've met through my blog and love of TV like my fellow bloggers, some of whom have become good friends over the years, as well my readers without whom the blog would be nothing. It's because of them I've had so many wonderful opportunities over the past few years and have discovered my true passion for the world of television. Speaking of this year in general, I'm thankful to the cast and crew of both Burn Notice and Psych for welcoming us bloggers with open arms and letting us observe them for a day as well as the folks at both USA and New Media Strategies who made it all happen. But it's been a big year otherwise and I'm just generally grateful that we all have each other to see us through what looks to be the hard times ahead. It's nice to know that when things get rough, there are people out there who excel at making me laugh and smile.

TV Week In Review

TV Week In Review is usually posted on Saturday so I apologize for being late, but here it is:

*Reviews May Contain Spoilers*

Desperate Housewives - City On Fire

Lynette: Just so you know, I fight back.

Susan does the most normal things and is so corny…yet it is always funny! The moment that I feel that her silly self and clumsiness is played out, she does something that is so incredibly funny. Gabrielle is a very smart person, so even when she does let money lead her decisions, she at least knows that the consequences are coming. She is trying to get away from Virginia, she really is…so I hope that this storyline is not drawn out. It was entertaining but only for a moment. Let’s get Virginia out of the picture in the next few episodes. I had enough of her after she tried to have a say in the way that Gabby raises her children. Bree was hilarious, spooing off compliments in exchange for the perfect day for show and tell. Lucky for her, she was honest with the reporter in the end, actually giving herself a positive angle for the feature. Lynette is such a tough woman, that is really why I am drawn to her. As problematic as her life is, she is always so strong through it all (even without her realizing it for herself). It was no surprise that Dave started the fire. I really liked the editing for the buildup to the fire and during the fire. What I love about the conclusion is the quote Mary Alice said…“no one ever doubts a hero.” That really makes a person wonder.

Terminator:SCC - Complications

Cameron: I wouldn’t be worth much if I couldn’t feel.

So the first laugh came when John told Cameron to shut up because she thought Sarah was pregnant. Got to love terminators. I do not think that Cromartie is dead. If that really was the “big death” of the season, that is pretty weak. As much as I would like to see Cromartie gone, I just cannot accept that as the big death us SCC fans have been wondering about happening this season. It was refreshing to be enlightened by Cameron about terminator feelings. That small moment explained so much. It was very heart wrenching to see Cameron pass of the turtle to Cromartie in her nightmare, if you catch the symbolism. It was very interesting that Cameron said that terminators were not built to be cruel. That should bring up an interesting debate among SCC fans. That was so horrible to see Cameron choking James. John gave a lighthearted “sorry” although I really am wondering if James is at all involved in Cromartie’s missing body. I would like to think that he is not at fault but only time will tell. I really enjoyed the unraveling of the back story for Derek. The chemistry between Derek and Jesse I would love to see, but I just do not see it the way I feel like I should. That might be because I do not see the significance in her character or the way that it is portrayed…I do not know but something is just off to me. The ending lets us know that Sarah is getting closer to figuring out…something lol but the question is not so much about what she is finding out but how long it will take for her to tell John. I do not think Sarah knows the difference between being protective and being secretive.

Chuck - Chuck vs. The Fat Lady

Sarah: You want to pay me back? Don’t hurt him again.

I feel bad for Chuck being gullible enough to fall for his ex who dumped him in the first place. The conversation that Sarah and Chuck had about Chuck’s relationships/privacy, you could tell there was a serious concern under the humor. That is what I love about this show, it is so humorous that sometimes you do not even realize you are being hit with such a weight. You never stop laughing when watching this show! So far in this episode, Jill has heard or seen things in a perspective that leads her to think Chuck is seriously with Sarah. As unfortunate as that is for a girlfriend, because I know that Jill is the enemy, it is just plain funny. Casey breaking out the high C note was one of the main comedic highlights of this episode! I am so glad what was thought to have been a bomb was not a bomb because I am tired of bombs on this show. I really look forward to endings of episodes because I am not the best at writing endings myself (for many reasons) and even though this ending in a way has been portrayed before on TV & in films, it was still exciting and makes me anticipate next week’s episode.

One Tree Hill - We Three (My Echo, My Shadow and Me)

Nathan: I was wondering if maybe you might want to step out with me sometime?
Haley: Well why don’t you stop wondering and ask me sometime?

The thunderstorm to introduce this episode was perfect. A 1940’s theme for Lucas’ dream was a nice turn for this episode. Why does it not surprise me that Lucas would have a 1940’s themed dream? When Dan mentioned Karen’s cafĂ© I was so sad. I miss Karen! I love Haley’s accent for this episode. Dan kissing Haley was such an unexpected moment and I yelled “Whoa!” when I saw that. It totally caught me off guard. Mouth totally belongs in the 1940’s! I did not buy Peyton in this time period and I also did not buy how Peyton and Dan were connected. That was just too odd. Why did the makeup department go so heavy on Chad? Although the timeline was fast for Haley & Nathan as far as falling in love, I enjoyed their storyline the most. If Peyton dies in Lucas’ dream and he says that she is free afterwards, I wonder that means for him in real life. Yikes, did you see what happened at the end? I hope Peyton will be okay. I am sure she will but I am just a bit worried. As much as this episode was great, I hope that next week is not a dream or anything and we can get back to real life. The very last song that played has been in my head ever since the episode went off and I really want it on iTunes if it is not already on there!

Heroes - Ch 9: It’s Coming

Elle: I only saved you so we could use you…like a lab rat.

It was only a matter of time before Linderman got to Hiro and affected his mind. While it is pretty funny that Hiro thinks that he is 10 years old, it is also very upsetting because he has to save the world! He either has to become a really mature 10 year old, or what was done to him has to be reversed as soon as possible. I am so excited that the comic book is leading the way again for Hiro & Ando’s path. Their storyline seems to be inching back on the right track. I really loved how crazy Elle looked in the introduction and the special effects when she hit Sylar with her powers. The special effects are killer. The scene where Sylar learns how to take people’s powers without killing them, the tear streaming down his face when he takes Elle’s powers is such a captivating moment. It was such a Heroes moment. I loved it. I am glad that Elle and Sylar put their differences aside. I just have one question…is this basically Peter’s power? I hate to be saying this but Hayden’s acting has seemed to be pretty unbelievable (literally I am talking, not in the good way) the past few episodes. Especially when she is trying to act tough. I am thinking to myself, “Am I supposed to buy that?” Her hair has also looked really weird too. I do not like Tracy in this episode. Maybe it is because she did not use her powers or she was interacting with Linderman. I do not know, she was unexciting. I loved that Matt used his powers to get inside Angela’s head and I imagine that he will help Daphne escape Linderman. As for Mohinder…I liked him before he injected himself and since he has done that I just have not been able to stand him. Also, I miss Micah and Molly! Bring Micah and Molly back! I can tell the show is trying to get back on the right track but it just seems like getting there is a bit slow. Let’s see how next week turns out. I hope that all of this buildup to the eclipse is worth it.

Samantha Who? - The Ex

Andrea: Oh that‘s so weird, I was just about to fake a phone call.

Sam is caught in a situation that many people have where the best friend is the ex. The idea of having a dinner to meet the exes is so entertaining. The twist was even better! I cannot believe that Owen’s best friend, Willow was hit on by Todd at his art class when she was the model. Fortunately in the end, Sam set that aside and it looks like she and Owen are going to be fine for awhile. Andrea trying to get with Tony is so funny because she doesn‘t even want him, she just wants the fame that goes with being with him. Dena making a mix of sexy music really brought the laughs! She brings more funny than Sam sometimes. The pictures she took of Andrea made me laugh so loud! This episode was more entertaining than the past few episodes. I enjoyed every bit of it!

90210 - That Which We Destroy

Dixon: Without your genes, Sean is just a total stranger.

Naomi and Annie’s reaction to their half brother asking if they were sisters was spot on. As entertaining as Tabitha is, her time is pretty much up as far as being an interesting character. The audience could see the conflict in Dixon’s face when the family is getting to know Sean. What is Tracy’s deal? Is she kidding herself? Does she really think that they are one happy family? Kelly really played out the role of a counselor in this episode. It was quite comical. Elisabeth Harnois made an appearance on this episode, so that was nice to see. I know her best from One Tree Hill. Although her character and the group of friends Naomi was supposed to impress…Naomi looked older than them so that was not believable. Also, I was not pleased with the way too obvious promotion for T-Mobile. There are less obvious ways to show your show sponsor. I understand the vibe Annie is trying to give off as far as making fun of Naomi although the way it is coming across is forced or too obvious and random as in too sudden. Later in the episode she talks about how she has changed so much and she wants to go back to how she was. What is the timeline here? She must have changed overnight because it all seemed just too sudden. Did you see how Tracy acted at the dinner? What is wrong with her? Other than the conflict of Dixon being black in a white family, can the writers create other conflict for him because he is very boring aside from that conflict and his relationship with Silver. By the way, a cheerleader getting in the way of Silver & Dixon’s relationship is not an original or interesting conflict. Of course I love the Brenda and Kelly storyline. What’s up with that phone call that Sean made at the end? Just when I thought he was not going to bring any problems into the picture (other than obviously being in the picture in the first place) he goes and makes this mysterious phone call. I think that is the only barely interesting thing that happened in this episode. The show is losing my interest now. I feel like because it is 90210 I am obliged to watch it. That sounds ridiculous but that is how I have been feeling although lately that feeling is not so strong. Perhaps that is because the show is starting to bore me. Only time will tell if I continue to watch.

House - Emancipation

13: Idiocy is what's killing her.
House: And since we can't cure that, I'm going home.

It took me awhile to get over the fact that a 16 year old was a factory manager. Once the team gets on her case, finding a bong at her place does not help the situation. I do not think that she has done drugs, she seems like a very responsible person but that does not prove anything (based on other stories shown on House). Having a parent who does not believe you when you tell them that the other parent raped you is probably one of the most horrible experiences someone can go through, so it would be horrible if she was lying about this, that is just low. Then, “Sofia” lying to the doctors about where her dead or alive parents are at such a scarce time for her is ludicrous. Finally, once she reveals the truth, it all makes sense why she thinks that her parents would not want to save her but she needs to realize that parents are parents no matter what. Parents equal everlasting love and she should have known that from the start. Once the parents came, the lady who played the mother was not that great of an actress it seemed. She did not convince me one bit to cry for her. Going to the other story, “uncontrollable giggling” coming out of Foreman’s mouth was pretty funny. For the issue to simply be an iron overdose was refreshing since there is already such a heavy story headlining this episode. The older brother trying to make his younger brother more strong was the most sweetest and yet very harmful thing. Whoever the boy is who played the older brother played this role so well. He seems like he will have a great future with acting. Overall, this was a very enjoyable episode. It was not one of the best this season, but still very enjoyable.

Privileged - All About Overcompensating

Sage: You go start the campfire and well catch up.

The dress that Megan is wearing in the introduction is gorgeous. The moment that I saw Rose’s grade on the test, I thought that this would not bring anything positive for Megan. Laurel breaking down the emotional wall and telling Megan her story was a bit unexpected so soon but I was grateful for it. I was also very pleased that Laurel is so open about Megan writing her biography now. If Sage is trying to be a good sister than why is she so happy that Rose is “stepping to the dark side” and then trying to guide her about it? Sage is all sorts of an emotional mess…more than Rose I think. When Rose told Sage to stay out of her problems, I was thinking, “You go Rose!” When Charlie told Megan that she was the kind of girls that guys fall in love with, that was so sweet. Megan is so blind to his feelings for her it makes me so sad. The way that Sage helped Rose cheat for the test...it was such a great sister moment. I love how this show really shows the true connection between siblings. It is so heartwarming to see Laurel and Megan's relationship getting better. Shout out to Erin McCarley, who's song (Love, Save The Empty) I love and was so happy to hear at the end of this episode. The ending of this episode was great and I can't wait to see what Megan does and how the girls react.

Pushing Daisies - Oh Oh Oh It's Magic

Emerson: A magic show?! Where did I put that rat’s ass I could give?

When I was younger, I had a phase where I loved magic. Needless to say, I still enjoyed this episode a lot even though magic and murder in the same sentence is very clichĂ©. Especially since every other line was a comedic moment. The rat in the magician’s mouth, I could have gone without. It was funny and sad to see Chuck call her mom in numerous accents. I was so happy that Chuck was not at the Pie Hole when Vivienne was on her “date” there. I was holding my breath, hoping that the magic show mystery would not be solved quickly, enabling Chuck to come back sooner. The nail that was all the way up the magician’s nose was disgusting! This episode was full of not only laughs but many squeamish moments. Of course the ending where Chuck connects with her mother, that was pretty touching. Chuck’s grave being opened and found to be empty is not good! This will be a major conflict I am assuming for the next episode and I look forward to it. There really is nothing else that stood out. Overall, this was a good episode.

Ugly Betty - When Betty Met YETI

Mark: Really, what’s it called, “Clashing Patterns Digest?”

Amanda once again opens up the show bringing the audience laughs. It was nice to see Betty venturing outside of Mode for YETI. I was rooting Betty on the moment we found out she had to make a magazine in 2 days. Later on Mark said he had been working on the assignment for 3 months, so why was he still picking out clothes 2 days before? That seemed a bit out of character for Mark. I think that if he really wanted it, he would have already had his magazine done, outfits together, and would be bragging about it by then. I love the shout out to “In The Heights!” I want Justin to have friends! Stop having Justin meet people who don‘t end up being a real friend! Give him at least one person who is a good friend! As much as Daniel cares about Betty, he sure seemed to not care at all (update: until the very end). Yes! That is the Daniel I know and love! A 6 page recommendation letter, with that being the short version…wow. I love Betty’s idea for B magazine and I really loved the cover. I can relate to the “filling the quota” and of course so many others can, so it was interesting and I am glad to see that play out on TV. I was extremely taken aback by the old version of Betty. It was disturbing but it was so incredibly funny at the same time. I had to watch the entire ending of the show again because after Mark got the Madonna tickets after saying he didn’t have advantages as a gay man in the fashion industry, I cracked up laughing and could not hear the rest of the show. I totally loved the ending of this episode! I think it was my favorite ending of an episode this season.

The Office - Frame Toby

Dwight: I framed a raccoon for opening a Christmas present.

Michael screaming in the cold open was hilarious! Michael is so incredibly disturbed by Toby, it is insane and never disappoints the audience as far as laughs. What a comedic moment it was to find out that people only answered Michael’s texts if he wrote 911! I was accepting of the house that Jim bought until it came to the creepy clown picture on the wall. Who has a picture of a clown on their wall? The note that Pam left on the microwave reminded me of myself. Michael is ridiculous. I love him! I love the faces that were made when he was comparing Toby to Neve Campbell in Scream 2. Coming back from break, when Dwight says that it is a good day…he is wearing his mustard shirt…he says it like it is a new shirt! So funny! It was fun to see Gene Stupnitsky in this episode! Seeing how Ryan reacts to people now after being a top dog and then coming back to Scranton is hilarious. I loved it when Creed got up all uncomfortable when the cops came in! That moment was one of the best in this episode! It looked like Steve wanted to laugh before he called Toby a jerk, after the cops left. Turning the garage into an art studio was a great move for Jim since he bought the house without asking Pam. What was up with Dwight’s story at the end? He is so…the words to describe Dwight…..hmm….

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia - The Nightman Cometh

Charlie: I will smack your face off of your face.

Charlie writing a musical is one of the funniest things that I can think of him doing. It is so unexpected from him and yet it feels like he should have done this sooner. It was so good to see Artemis! Charlie yelling at Sweet Dee during rehearsal was quite funny. The choreography was the most hilarious choreography ever. Sweet Dee singing about not really being the character that she is playing and telling guys that she was single was hysterical. Charlie in his director’s outfit, talking to the camera like he was in a documentary was the funniest thing in this episode. The “finale” was a hot mess. I loved every moment of this episode, especially Charlie singing at the end.

Lipstick Jungle - Ch 16: Guess Who‘s Not Coming To Dinner

Victory: I don’t really have very much because I’ve just been baking and sketching.

Victory trying to pass on Thanksgiving is ridiculous. She is so much better than that. Megan just dropping by during the holiday season expecting Nico to watch her baby (or raise her baby altogether) is even more ridiculous. The only reason that Nico did not say no straight out is because she wants a good relationship with Megan. Kirby & Nico trying to take care of the baby seems more of a test of how they would be together than just simply babysitting in my perspective. Ever since Josie came into the picture, she has been a problem in Wendy’s marriage with Shane. I am hoping that simply this is not the clichĂ© case. If so, there needs to be a twist because that is just boring. Victory’s publicist setting her up to make a dress for a heavy woman without informing her first was wrong. I don’t like her publicist at all. Even when she is doing something for the good, she is so negative. Josie describing her dead dog under her bed with its eyes open was hilarious and disturbing. Awkward. I love that this episode showed people still going through conflict on a holiday and it was not a wishy washy chipper Thanksgiving episode. I expected more of Shane as far as Josie is concerned. I am anticipating how the baby will effect Kirby and Nico. Kirby says that Nico’s honesty about the situation is the issue but I am wondering if that really is the truth or just a front for the real issue of raising a child. Hopefully they will not break up over this. Natasha Bedingfield must have a great deal with NBC because I feel like I hear a song by her every week on this show.

Christmas Tree Lighting at The Grove

Last night was the Christmas Tree Lighting at The Grove in LA.

Natalie Cole performed! I recorded her singing so you can check it out here.

I also recorded the Band from TV performing, so check them out here. Greg Grunberg (Heroes) is in Band from TV so I was there to support him! Also in attendance from Heroes were Sendhil Ramamurthy, Cristine Rose, and Adrian Pasdar. Part of the band was James Denton (Desperate Housewives), Jesse Spencer (House), and Bob Guiney (The Bachelor).

Edita from Dancing With the Stars also performed. Jon Lovitz hosted the show and Kristin Cavallari also made an appearance.

CNN 2008 Heroes

I just got back from the 2008 CNN Heroes Awards taping at the Kodak Theatre, hosted by Anderson Cooper. The ceremony honored 10 ordinary people from around the world who have done extraordinary things to change this world for the better.

Those Honored:

Liz McCartney was given the award for 2008 CNN Hero of the Year. Liz has done everything I wish that I can someday do and more for those affected in Katrina. She has influenced 9,000 people to volunteer their time to help rebuild homes - lives.

While all of the individual journeys of these heroes have impacted me, Maria Ruiz’s speech made me shed a tear and Carolyn Leroy’s story made me shed a few tears. I am not one to shed tears lightly fyi.

I will not tell you all about these heroes because I want you to watch this broadcast when it airs on Thanksgiving night and read more about these heroes here.

I ended up sitting 10 rows behind Taylor Swift. Yes, I counted. Not bad for my first awards show. Anyway, the show started and the first presenter was Kate Beckinsale. The next presenter was Terrence Howard and I could not even tell you one word he said because I was so caught up in the fact that he was right in front of me. Then, Selena Gomez presented, Cameron Diaz presented, and then a special musical guest performed. While I will not say who performed, I died and went to heaven and it was beautiful. Then, John Krasinski presented an award and I did not know that he was going to be there so I was more than delighted to see him again and more up close this time. The first time was at the Emmys red carpet earlier this year.

Anyway, Lucy Liu and Meg Ryan presented awards and then Alicia Keys performed “Superwoman” with a projection in the background of the world’s superwomen including Anne Frank and Maya Angelou. The last three presenters were Forest Whitaker, Salma Hayek, and Jessica Biel. After the initial 10 awards were given out, High Jackman acknowledged six recipients honored by People Magazine this year as Heroes Among Us. Among those recipients was Elizabeth Smart. I was more than overjoyed to see her, as I have been following her journey since she was missing. The show came to a close with John Legend performing "If You're Out There" from his new album, "Evolver" with a choir behind him. All of the performances were amazing. All of the presenters did a great job. Only one award to be presented had to be shot again because of bad timing. The editing room did such a fabulous job showing us the journeys of these 10 heroes in such a short amount of time each. I am hoping that everyone can watch this when it airs because every single one of these heroes will make an impact on your life.

CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute airs Thanksgiving at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

Movie Review: Twilight

Twilight was good enough for me to like it but not good enough for me to love it. Even knowing that books never translate better on film and this film was low budget, there was still a lot that could have been better, even with an open mind. I felt like had I not been a fan of the series beforehand and walked into the theater knowing all of the anticipation that the fans built up, I would have been pretty disappointed. With all of what I am about to say below, I truly believe that after a few more viewings, I will learn to love the film for what it is - but not settle for this come time to translate the rest of the series on screen.

I was thrilled that the film was so true to the book, so in that sense I love the film. The major points in the book were hit, so I cannot complain in that sense.

Now the scenes went by at the speed of lightning and the transition between scenes throughout the entire movie…well there really did not seem to be any. While it is understandable that parts in the book must be skipped, I did not feel like the intimacy that grew between Bella and Edward was shown the way that it was in the book at all. It jumps straight into their relationship, into being in love. There is so much buildup and none was shown. You can’t rush a love story.

I also did not like how it was shaky at many times. I can understand the idea of running through the forest from a vampire’s point of view, but it did not come across very well. Also, while the many views of the landscape were gorgeous, there seemed to be too much time focused on getting shots of that rather than Edward and Bella.

As far as the makeup, the pale white skin was way too obvious for Edward, Carlisle, and somewhat Jasper. The actual filming location set the tone perfectly but the tone set by the actors, director (Catherine Hardwicke), and background music were not on the same page.

I was really looking forward to seeing the sparkle effect when Edward goes into the sunlight. Now that I have seen it outside of my head, I think that the idea was not translated well enough with the special effects but it was still good.

As far as the baseball scene goes…I actually enjoyed the baseball game but the overall scene was not at all portrayed in as big of a way that it is in the book, especially the stand off (which seemed forced and there really was not enough tension).

The Actors/Characters:
When the cast was first announced for this movie, I was not thrilled with who Edward would be. There was talent no doubt but that was not at all my image of Edward, even worth a compromise. I was satisfied with Kristen Stewart but I never could accept Robert Pattinson. While watching the film, I see why I could never fully accept Robert and I also see why he seemed fitting for the part. Kristen delivered and I am glad that she is Bella but the vibe that I get from Robert is that he seems to want to make the character his own a bit too much. When the character is written out for you in 4 books, there is not much making it your own that you need to do. Just stick with the book kid and relax. Also, if having an American accent is that much of a struggle, practice all day everyday to get it right so not to seem uncomfortable on film. This is only the first film, so I am sure that he will get better. He better.

Was anybody else bummed that there was barely any Jacob in the film? The way that he told Bella the "story" at La Push was exactly how I envisioned it.

I love Carlisle, Alice, Emmett, Jasper, and Rosalie. Every time Alice was shown, I had a big grin on my face. She is such a ray of light in the Cullen Clan, I love her!

Charlie and Bella’s school friends (especially Jessica) were portrayed…dare I say perfectly.

Great Moments:

In Bio when Edward looked like he was going to throw up because of Bella’s smell…that was perfect. Everything about that scene was perfect. I loved seeing him try to get out of that class and then saying he would just have to endure it. That was perfect!

That one line about wolves at prom, when Edward takes Bella away from Jacob was such a tease. Robert delivered the line perfectly. That was Edward Cullen all of the way. Although, people who have never read the book may not get the joke if they weren't really paying attention to the story Jacob told Bella at La Push.

When Edward is playing the piano (cue the “swoons”) I was thinking, “That’s my Edward!” Haha. I loved it and I could watch that all day.

The Port Angeles scene…Edward saying “You should put on your seat belt” and Bella’s reaction was brilliant.

Daisies To Die

Pushing Daisies has been cancelled (Source) according to creator, Bryan Fuller himself. Of course ABC is not (yet) confirming its cancellation, only the fact that there will be 13 episodes this season. 6 episodes have aired, so 7 remain.

This show was so original, so fresh, such a ray of light each week. I will definitly miss watching this show every week and I hope that its story is brought to a true conclusion whether through comics, etc... Only time will tell.

Screenwriting Expo 08

I attended the 2009 Screenwriting Expo held at the LA Convention Center last week.

On Thursday, I attended 2 panels. First, I attended the TV Power Pitch Workshop led by Mark & Jeanne Simon which was a very upbeat panel. There was not a dull moment learning about pitching and watching examples of good and bad pitches. Then, I headed over to the Writing for Emotional Impact class taught by Karl Iglesias. From the moment that I walked in, I could tell that it was more of a dull vibe. I thought the class was going to dig deep into writing for emotional impact, although I quickly realized that it was just an overview of what Karl Iglesias would be teaching at the expo in later classes for that very topic. Needless to say, I was not blown away with this class.

On Friday, I attended the Master Screenwriting Panel with Josh Olson (Batman: Gotham Knight), Simon Kinberg (X-Men: The Last Stand), Steve Farber (Wedding Crashers), Dan Waters (Batman Returns) and Jason Reitman (Thank You For Smoking). This panel was quite entertaining to say the least. Put a few talented writers together and what a riot it will become. I sure hope that Creative Screenwriting Podcast is able to post this as an episode.

After that panel, I made sure not to miss the panel featuring the Guests of Honor for the day, Karen Lutz and Kirsten Smith. Kirsten was unable to make the panel although I can only imagine how much more exciting it would have been with her. These ladies are responsible for writing 10 Things I Hate About You, Ella Enchanted, She’s The Man, and The House Bunny. Based on their credits alone, I already knew this panel would be far from boring and I was right. I am an even bigger fan of Karen Lutz after this panel. Girl's got spunk. She's got it. I am so anticipating the ABC sitcom in the works based on the lives of these 2 screenwriters. By the way, Karen loves you, Josh Holloway.

After-wards, I sat through a Final Draft Version 8 Preview Presentation. Final Draft 8 is so incredibly updated…it makes Final Draft 7 look like the first Final Draft. All I need is the release date for Final Draft 8 and then I am counting down the days until I can buy it.

On Saturday, I attended an Agents and Managers Panel, where writers had all of their burning questions answered - from getting an agent/manager to what to do after you have an agent/manager. It was very educational and I enjoyed this a lot.

After-wards was the panel that I had anticipated all week long…the Heroes Panel with Tim Kring! Jeph Loeb and Jesse Alexander were scheduled to attend but if you have been following Heroes news, you know this. Words cannot describe how I felt sitting so close to Tim Kring, getting a very candid interview from him as he answered questions (so different from the Comic Con frenzy). Not only did I learn more about Tim and Heroes, but the business, and what it is like to oversee not only a hit show but a brand. What an incredible panel this was. I enjoyed every bit of it.

The last day of the expo was on Sunday but I was busy and therefore could not make it. While at the expo, I did pick up the American Beauty script. If you are an aspiring screenwriter and you have not started a script collection, I suggest that you start now.

Honestly, while I enjoyed the expo overall, I do not see myself going every year. While it is beneficial, it seems too loosely organized for my taste. I am so grateful to have been able to attend the panels that I did attend and I will not forget the experience.

Total Finale Live

I was fan of TRL from the first day that it aired. I was a fan of TRL for all of the time that Carson Daly was host. I would have done anything to have made it to the last TRL show and see Carson Daly. Carson on TRL was what made my MTV (other than Cribs, Diary, and Making The Video). TRL was over when Carson left as far as I am concerned but it was nice to know that it was on over the years just in case I wanted to catch an episode. I enjoyed a handful of the Vjs after Carson (Damien, Hilarie, La La, etc...) but even without judging the show based on the host, things just got boring after awhile. Now I am going to review the Finale Show, which was far from boring! I enjoyed every moment!

Beyonce opened up the show. I would much rather have seen someone like Britney or Christina perform since those are the people that come to mind when I think of a memorable TRL artist. I was thrilled to see the photo booth pictures as the backdrop. When Taylor Swift showed the TRL Yearbook, I was thinking to myself (and still am) “I want the TRL yearbook!” It was really great to have Travis Barker on via satellite. I remember when every new Blink 182 video premiered on TRL. I am not really a fan of Diddy but I loved a lot of his music videos back in the 90s and his segment on how much he promoted his career was put together well. The Ben Stiller scene was very short and still pretty entertaining. The show would not be complete without hearing from Britney, Christina, or any other 90s pop hit, so I was soooooo thrilled to see the Christina Aguilera segment. Christina is my favorite artist from the 90s hands down so of course I was ecstatic that there was a segment all about her. Did you see Hilarie Burton’s hair in the flashback? Ahhh she looked so young! When the best performances from over the years were aired, seeing the performances from Kelly Clarkson, Gwen Stefani, and N*sync...wow. The Kelly & Gwen performances made me remember the spring break week on MTV (that was a big deal back then). N*sync made me laugh, not only because of their style back then but because I remember just how wrapped up I was in them.

When Carson brought Kid Rock over to the window to say goodbye, I was so sad seeing the last wave from the window. Then right after that, to go to Suchin Pak, John Norris, and Sway…I LOVED MTV News so that really made me sad and it made me smile remembering all those MTV News moments. I remember the first show after 9/11 like it was yesterday...different understandably so and I love the way that they handled it. The Ludacis, Nelly, and Snoop performances were great. What was considered the best Time Square Moments…was not up to par with what I thought. The only really amazing moment shown was the Michael Jackson bit. I enjoy Fall Out Boy but I think that it would have been better if TRL had brought back one of the 90s groups like Hanson, Dream, 3LW, Eden’s Crush, etc… to perform or at least a “Where They Are Now” segment. I remember the Mariah ice cream truck moment! I was so thrilled to see Hilary Duff at the finale. I remember when “So Yesterday” premiered on TRL. Look how far she has come! Yay Hilary! Gosh, I remember when Eminem shut down Times Square, as so many other artists/groups did but that one time that was shown was crazy! By this time, the show is almost over...and I do not want it to end. It really was bittersweet and I enjoyed it so much.

My favorite moment of the finale was the Backstreet Boys performing “I Want It That Way.” I was grinning the entire time, so wide. My cheeks hurt even now.

I loved the Finale. It was a celebration of the 90s. It was a flashback of my childhood. It was incredible. Now I wish that MTV will release a DVD of the best TRL moments plus the entire episode of the 1st show and the finale. That would be a keepsake.

Video Countdown of the Finale Show:
(BTW Good Job on adding fan shout outs during some of the videos like old times)

10 Outkast - Hey Ya
9 Blink 182 - What’s My Age Again?
8 Usher - Yeah
7 Beyonce Crazy In Love
6 Kid Rock - Bawitdaba
5 Christina Aguilera - Dirrty (Come On Over should have made the list!)
4 N*sync - Bye, Bye, Bye
3 Backstreet Boys - I Want It That Way
2 Eminem - The Real Slim Shady
1 Britney Spears - Baby One More Time

Goodbye TRL!

A TV Week In Review

*Reviews May Contain Spoilers*

Desperate Housewives - What More Do I Need?

Tom: I know a little bit about songwriting.
Orson: No you don't.

The opening was clever, as usual. That is what I love about this show! I loved the look on Tom’s face when he found out that Porter was sleeping with his best friend’s mother! I always cheer on Lynette (literally) and this week was no different when she told granny to stop sleeping with her son. If Porter really got her knocked up, that is going to be some serious gossip on Wisteria Lane. Bree was rather boring this week - until the security tape scene when she wanted to get the tape! What an amusing moment! Virgina getting in the bed with Carlos & Gabby was unbelievable! Asking the girls to call her Grandma! Can you believe her? Wow. That lady has crazy written all over her. Hopefully she won’t bring too much trouble to Carlos & Gabby. By that I mean, hopefully that call that she made will not be as threatening as it seemed to be against the two. Susan needs to realize that Jackson is not for her. That is all I have to say about that. Katherine & Mike! I am speechless. Can’t wait for next week!

Terminator:SCC - Mr. Ferguson is Ill Today

Riley - Life’s too short and people suck.

I love how this episode is divided into perspectives! First Sarah’s, then Cameron’s, then John’s. I could feel the tension Sarah had towards Riley so strongly. Sarah is so negative about Riley & John’s relationship…it makes me a bit angry. I can definitely see why she is so protective over John and the safety of the company he keeps (or should not keep) but she needs to give John one aspect of a normal teenage life. If not through Riley, find a way. I could feel the curiosity through Cameron’s perspective that she has in not only humans, but John’s way of thinking and reasoning behind things (past, present, and future). I could feel the normal kid in John through his perspective. It was interesting to see that Riley was trying to get to know more about John since she usually does not seem to want to get personal. I was devastated when John and Riley were arrested. When John made the phone call to his mom in jail, it seemed like he knew that the voice was a terminator and not his mom, so that was good. As John was saying, “When you see daylight, you run” and as the background music played, the anticipation of what was going to happen next was killing me. Going back to Sarah’s story, I felt the pain that Coke can gave digging into her skin even though she didn’t really show it. How surprising it was to see James with John when the trunk was opened. It was also surprising in a sense and refreshing to see James’ perspective as well. Of course his perspective was the most exciting, what with all of the action. You think Riley is looking forward to another trip to Mexico with John? Ha! Derek’s perspective was fun to see. I love how he wanted to stay undercover and Cameron was already on the move, so obviously. Cromartie is no joke. Using James as bait and the Mexican music during Cromartie’s death scene was so perfect. When Sarah had her breakdown, I wanted to cry with her and I really felt so much empathy. This episode was everything that I look for in a Terminator episode so I was more than satisfied and I cannot wait until next week.

Chuck - Chuck vs. The Ex

Lester: I was born ready.
Jeff: I was born premature.

The flashback to the breakup between Chuck & Jill was great to see as an introduction to the episode. Jill was played by Jordana Brewster (I remember her best as Delilah from the 1998 flick The Faculty). That choking scene was especially funny because of Jeff asking if there were anymore doughnuts after the fact. The awkward hug between chuck & Jill which did not have to be awkward at all was hilarious. I do not understand why Chuck lied about his occupation. He could have said he was planning out for his own business instead of lying about having so many. That was funny when Chuck said that he had mojo back in the day. I loved the music that went along with Chuck & Jill cruising until the car stopped. So funny! The conversation he had with Jill took it back emotion wise to before Chuck was who he is today so that was nice to see. Lester & Jeff pulling up and blowing up Chuck’s spot was dead on wrong timing and very funny, as expected to be. There were so many hysterical one liners in this episode. The buildup to Chuck bugging Jill’s phone was quite entertaining and even after when Jill heard Chuck on her phone line. The image of Casey on Chuck’s phone is hysterical. The scene where Chuck asks Jill for help was written so well! I loved it! The side story back at Buy More was great! Chuck’s thought about the kiss was pretty much one of the funniest parts of the episode. Of course this episode was filled with lots of laughs and lots of action. Next week should be just as entertaining.

One Tree Hill - Even Fairy Tale Characters Would be Jealous

Millicent: Get that slut out of my bed!

Although I do not fully understand the connection between the title of this episode and the episode itself, I loved both the creative title and the episode very much! How funny was is to see Sam stare at Brooke all cheery? Small moments like that make a big impression to the audience on those characters. It really was terrible that Millicent found Gigi in Mouth’s bed! Then when she had the nerve to flash him…I have had enough of Gigi. I am glad that Mouth at least slept on the couch, but still. I just loved how Peyton’s ex asked “How you doing?” and Lucas punched him, said “Okay” and just walked away. Brilliant. Peyton’s reaction to Lucas’s punch was great! I love the comedy in this show. “Wish me luck too!” I thought it was creepy that the ghost of Quentin is still on the show. Leave him be. I am not going to lie though, I had a little tear in my eye when Q said he wished he had second chance. So I laughed the loudest when Brooke compared finding out about Millicent being a virgin and all to finding a unicorn. I like that Millicent is doing what she has to do to keep her relationship with Mouth on the right path. I really, really enjoyed the way this episode was directed, edited, and filled with live music in the background. I just love everything about this episode. I am in love with the song that Haley performed in this episode. When Brooke pulled Sam aside to tell her that she was welcome as long as she wanted to be, that was another teary eyed moment for me. It looks like Lucas is genuinely fine with the fact that he is not attached to his film. Although if he goes back and decides to work with Peyton’s ex, I think he will still be genuinely happy with the way that things go. Like he said, there will be many more books and many more films. So if it is not meant to happen right now, that is okay but I just hope Peyton’s ex will not complicate Lucas’s and Peyton’s relationship too much. Not sure how many times that I have written “love” in this review but it has been quite awhile since I have really enjoyed an episode of OTH. The vibe has been different ever since Season 4 and I am not sure I will ever get used to it but that is another discussion within itself.

Heroes - Chapter 8:Villains

Angela: I just wonder sometimes if without your power you would know me at all anymore.

I can accept the fact that Hiro & Ando were left out of the majority of this episode but I was not pleased at the way that they were left out. Although the cliffhanger at the very end had me wanting more! How is Hiro going to get out of this situation? Their storyline is a bit on the dull side right now. As far as the Petrellis go, a father choosing to kill his son is an incredibly complex conflict that I love because it seems to fit perfectly just for this family. As terrible as that is, the Petrellis redefine what a dysfunction family is. For Arthur to even think about allowing Linderman to kill his son…that is so disturbing. Can you believe who Meredith’s brother is? Interesting. The dialogue and chemistry between Flint and Meredith was so realistic for siblings, I really appreciated that. HRG & Elle trying to figure out what Sylar was all about made me think about just how far Elle’s character can be taken. I can’t really explain it but I think that Elle has so many layer to her that we have yet to see. The way that Arthur controlled Angela in her head was heartbreaking although I am glad that Linderman showed her the truth. Later on, to be able to see how the fire in the Pilot was started felt unreal. That is the Heroes that I want to see every week. This scene alone really took it back to a reminder of how amazing Heroes was in Season 1. I was thrilled with Angela’s plan to kill Arthur and devastated when Nathan came in to find his dad laid out on the floor and ruined the plan.

Samantha Who? - Help!

Dena: Why you got to be rollin’ up on me, 5-0?

The introduction was hysterical when Sam was paranoid about the cop so she ran the red light! When she was picking out what was “offered” by the court for her punishment and ended up picking out nails from a bucket instead of rebuilding a house…it was so perfect! Sam was so upbeat about helping out Natalie (Mary Kate Olsen), she was so corny and it was extremely funny. MK had a great role, it did not seem like stunt casting to me. Sam’s parents are a hot mess, I love them. The interview with Natalie that never happened because Sam kept interrupting was quite humorous. That was such a romantic thing that Todd did at the end, although I am unsure why he did not just leave it up. Anyhow, overall this was another very enjoyable episode.

90210 - Games People Play

Naomi: I’ve got my own games to play.

Naomi is a character that I generally love and hate equally. However, this episode I loved every bit of her! We already knew that she had game, but the girl has got GAME! She is so immature the way she goes about doing things but she is quite the mastermind behind all drama. The scene where Silver tells Dixon about Ethan & Annie and then Ethan comes up to his locker behind them and the two run away….I loved it! What a comedic moment, pulled off very well. The “surprise” of Jason coming to town was expected sometime in the season (since that would be typical) so it really was not a surprise. I was more taken aback by Adrianna meeting Navid’s family (more because Navid did not feel comfortable). Did you see Ethan’s face when Jason said that he was thinking about going to UCLA at the triple date? OMG! Loved it! What an uncomfortable moment altogether for Ethan. I can’t believe Jason kissed Annie. Not good. We knew there would be drama at Annie’s Sweet 16 (because what kind of teen show would it be if nothing happened?). It never fails to entertain when there is an entire dramatic scene (with Ethan, Annie, Naomi, and Jason) and then it goes straight to something more cheerful (the karaoke). The speech that Annie gave to Naomi at the end was so realistically written and I hope that Naomi accepts something from Annie said. The ending of this episode was perfect. Only time will tell how things turn out!

House - The Itch

Dr. Taub: Mom would have cleaned better.

The opening was really puzzling and made me anticipate what would occur. The father-daughter storyline was not as exciting as previous episodes. I must say that I was more interested in Cuddy and House arguing about Cuddy raising a child. Yes, I was extremely crushed when the girl said she wanted to keep her baby in the end. Although, I do believe that even if it does not work out…Cuddy is still growing from this situation. If I had the rash that girl who Cuddy is adopting from had, I would have been to the hospital in a heartbeat. Who goes on in with their day with a big ol’ rash? I think I laughed for about 5 minutes after Dr. Taub said “I would like to buy some cocaine please.” In general, this was a decent episode. I really cannot wait to see how far the relationship with Cuddy and House goes. Time will only tell!

Privileged - All About Insecurities

Sage: Not a compliment. Why do people just assume?

Laurel is ridiculous. She can be upset at Megan but she also needs to get over herself. I am happy that Rose & Sage are happy right now and seem to be managing school and aiming for fame well. It was refreshing to have Megan’s friend from NY come around. It was nice to see Megan so relaxed around her,…at least up until their argument - although the friend should have asked before telling her boss that Megan was going to write the article. Lucy Hale has such a fabulous voice! Umm, I did not like the outfit for Sage when the girls performed. I understand that Sage felt left out by their publicist after they performed but she needs to learn how to be able to stand on her own in any situation (as well as Rose). That is unfortunate that Will lost his job (not that he needs it but it is the principal of why he was getting a job). On one hand I think that anyone could have spilled the beans sooner or later and on the other hand I am just angry that Will’s boss was not professional about the situation. I hope Rose does not fail the test! Fingers crossed.

Pushing Daisies - Oh Oh Oh It's Magic Airs Nov 19th

Ugly Betty - Tornado Girl

Amanda: You look like a plus size princess.

There really was nothing spectacular about this episode. A handful of small moments where quite funny…like the moment Amanda came running over to Mark and Betty to go on the “road trip” and when Amanda was trying to hitchhike after the car crashed. Basically Amanda carried this episode. She was the most entertaining character. I did like how they focused a little bit more on Mark’s relationship with his boyfriend since in real life the No on Prop 8 dilemma is still going on her in California. At first thought, I was shocked that Mark cheated on Cliff at the roof party (and then proposed because he felt bad about it) but after thinking about it I am not all that shocked that he cheated. Not to say that he is a “cheater” but you could tell he was not fully committed to Cliff. I wish I could talk about more about anything really interesting in this episode but it seemed kind of like a filler episode. Hopefully next week will be better. More dramedy please!

The Office - Business Trip

Dwight: That’s totally unrealistic. There are no lines in the parking lot.

In the cold open, when Michael covered Meredith and said she was now sexy in her culture…that brought out the first laugh for me. It was so creepy the way that Creed snuck up on Jim. Can you say uncomfortable? Andy trying to be romantic in French with Angela was hysterical and sad. Poor Andy. Ryan trying to impress Kelly was so cute! Then Kelly trying to act like she was over him and then one second later, you see Kelly well, being Kelly! A concierge and a geisha comparison was incredibly outrageous and amusing! Keeping Pam in NY for another 3 months…what? Oh phew… fast forward to the end and we see that she comes back. Good. It’s about time she come back to Scranton. I could so tell that Michael was missing Holly when he was talking about dying with people you like rather if not with the person that you love. Aww. That well written break up text message ending up being Darryl’s lifesaver, haha. Andy thinks that Oscar is “Delightful!” What a corny, fun word coming out of Andy. Loved it. Overall, this episode was pretty forgettable. Maybe I need to watch it a few more times or maybe it really was just an okay episode. As it stands, last week’s episode (Customer Survey) is my favorite episode of the season.

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia - The Gang Gets Extreme: Home Makeover

Sweet Dee: You can’t run from the kindness of strangers!

I love the vision board (Oprah moment) and “What would Ty Pennington do?” opening. Charlie’s idea for announcing to the family that they have been chosen for a makeover was outrageous. Leading the family out with bags over their heads was particularly amusing. Chalie losing his cool…him getting very passionate about Sears err helping people was also very amusing. Wouldn’t it be nice if you could walk into Sears and put your purchases on the Extreme Makeover Home Edition tab? I would have loved to see the result of Charlie’s taco bed. Mac and Sweet Dee’s version of Extreme Makeover was ridiculous and I loved how outlandish it was. Mac’s line at the very end was brilliant. Everything about this show is brilliant. It never disappoints.

Lipstick Jungle - Ch 15: Sisterhood of the Traveling Prada

Nico: It’s not high school anymore. I can’t quit cheerleading because you don‘t like the captain.

I loved the getaway trip because we know the goal is to getaway from problems but you really ending up faces all of them in the end. The girls having their girl talk in the room, mainly talking about chocolate was so entertaining. It was very interesting to see Nico & Wendy argue about if and when to tell Victory what they knew about Jo. Once the time came for them to tell Victory that they knew about the proposal before she did, it turned into a very emotional scene. How hilarious was it when Nico asked, “Should I be sweating this much?” The dialogue on this show is so incredibly written. Each of the girls really hold their own voice and it is so refreshing to see such strong, independent, real people on TV. I was not thrilled that Kirby crashed the girls’ getaway trip. Wendy should take the job offer plain and simple. What a real cop it will be if this argument about where to live together with Nico & Kirby leads up to a break up. Victory needs to not focus on needing a guy to feel better. What a funny line! “I am not certified in possum CPR.” I would not know what to look for if I popped the hood of my car so that was a real comedic moment, as well as Wendy mentioning the music people play when they put you on hold. What a nice gesture for Jo to pick up the girls when they were stranded but what a terrible breakup. It was bittersweet because she gained control of her business but lost the person who meant the most to her. This episode was very emotional and I loved every moment of it. Fingers crossed that the plug is pulled on the show once the season is over and not right away.
