Would you say Meteor is more about the circumstance of the meteor or more character driven?
I think it is both and that is what makes it so interesting. You can have the end of the world fans really get into it and then you can have those who want to watch a really good story about the characters. I think that makes the audience more broader.
What was the most challenging part about filming Meteor?
The biggest challenge for me was the heat. Working under those conditions is not the easiest. We were filming in the summer, from June to August in California and I'm not even sure where we were half the time but when I saw an ambulance pull up and loads of people, I knew I was on set.
Did you have to do any research for your role?
No, there was no time to do any of that. For all of the stunts though, we had wonderful set coordinators who were able to help me through most of it.
What was the audition process like?
I actually didn't have to audition for it and I got the script sent to me as an offer. I knew that it was going to happen quickly so I needed to give them an answer and I remember being really excited since it was nothing that I have ever done before.
What was it like working with Christopher Llyod?
He is so awesome! I was really excited to be able to work with him. Unfortunately, he was in it for such a short time that we did not have a lot of time to work together, but the couple of days that we worked on set were just excellent.
Did you read the book Maneater before being cast in the Lifetime Movie?
Once I got the job, I did read the book. I listened to it on tape while driving to set as well.
Your album Grateful was amazing but your website has not been updated in awhile so what can you tell us about what’s going on with your music career?
I haven't updated in so long! I have been working so much as an actress for the past year and a half, so there hasn't been time for shows or anything else. So that's been the hold up and it's definitely on a bit of a pause but it's not gone forever. Something will happen soon though.
Would you ever consider moving to NY and taking a step into Broadway?
I would love nothing more. It is like my biggest dream. I am the biggest Theatre dork. I think the thing is, I do not have the "Broadway" voice since my voice has more of a pop/rock sound. So I just have to wait for the right play or musical to come up.
Do you have a dream Broadway role?
Eponine in Les Misérables but I am not young enough at this point. (laughs)
Do you talk to or have you seen any of your co-stars from The Practice, Full House or Party of Five?
From The Practice, I am very close with Kelli Williams and Jessica Capshaw. I still see the rest of them around town every once in awhile. From Party of Five, I still speak to Lacey Chabert and with Full House, I think we all kind of went our separate ways.
You also appeared on Desperate Housewives as a nanny…have you ever been a nanny/babysitter in real life?
No, thank goodness. I don't know if I could handle that. (laughs)
When did you launch your own company, "Kiss My Axe," a line of custom-made guitar straps?
That was probably about 4-5 years ago. I started making my own for myself and then friends starting asking me, and then Avril Lavigne's manager gave me a call. That's when I thought that I could really do something with it.
What do you watch on TV?
I love 30 Rock, The Real Housewives - any city, and The Office.
How’s getting ready for your wedding going?
It's going! It's definitely going really great. I have had so much fun planning it. It's a lot of work but it is fun.
