Blake co-wrote all but one of the songs for the album and collaborated with many songwriters and producers including S*A*M & Sluggo (Fall Out Boy, Panic at the Disco), Dave Audé (Pussycat Dolls), Rodney Jerkins (Lady Gaga, Britney Spears), and Jean Baptiste (Black Eyed Peas) and you can tell that every person involved in creating every song worked incredibly hard on not only creating great, meaningful music, but music that Blake truly wanted to create.
The music and lyrics shine on on the songs, Rhythm of My Heart, Afraid, and The Remedy. The most meaningful, heartfelt songs were felt in Sad Song and The Point. Binary Love, Freak, Rebel Without A Cause, and Love or Torture (Please Don't Stop) have beats that will have you dancing for hours. The songs, Left My Baby For You and Our Rapture of Love fall short for me however SuperScratchaVocalisticTurnatableLicious makes up for that, as this is a terrific beat boxing track. The only fault with this track is that it is far too short, lasting just one minute and 4 seconds. More beat boxing for the third album please! If any of the tracks on this album will have remixes, that is also a chance to incorporate more beat boxing. This entire album has an 80s vibe and present day experimental vibe and that is a main component of what makes Heartbreak on Vinyl so fresh and entertaining. This is an album you will definitely be hearing about as it makes its way to the top of the Billboard Charts so get your copy tomorrow!
