Review: Samantha Who? - With This Ring

*Review May Contain Spoilers*

Andrea: Wait, those aren't my parents and my maid of honor isn't even here. What is this?!

What an incredible ending to Samantha Who? this was. Every moment was great to watch. I enjoyed how Chapman found out by Dena that Sam actually had amnesia. It is so incredibly ridiculous that he didn't realize something was off with Sam way earlier, but still funny nonetheless. The best part about the intro was when Sam asked Winston to the wedding and then Todd came back to take her to the wedding! Even better, Sam finally found out that Winston sent Todd away. Sam using Winston to get back with Todd was perfect and these two getting engaged is what I have been waiting for since day one! This is the way it was supposed to be so I am glad that there was at least enough to time see this through on TV. It was good to see Seth back, still longing for Andrea. Thankfully, Andrea realized that he was better for her. I'm so glad that Andrea is "with" Seth! Dena's storyline wasn't as strong as the others but it was of course great to see he regardless. What I wasn't expecting was Regina to separate from Howard. That was a complete shock. However, they seem like the couple that would do their own thing for awhile and then get back together so that does not bother me. Overall, this was an incredible ending. It definitely felt more like a season finale than series finale but surprisingly there was a series finale feel to it...Sam and Todd getting engaged. It was the perfect ending.

Review: Samantha Who? - The Other Woman

*Review May Contain Spoilers*

Samantha: Your dress is so pretty.
Gigi: Yours too, you home-wrecking whore.
Samantha: Thanks, I got it on sale.

I enjoyed the introduction with Sam and Todd talking via web cam. Todd was hilarious. Regina was funny to see, drunk again. It was nice to see Angie Harmon as a guest star. What was really funny is that "the other woman" was not just pertaining to Todd's room mate but there was more focus on Winston's ex trying to get back with him. I can't hate on Sam for getting back with Winston because after reading those emails, it would take a strong person to continue to help the ex get back with Winston...and Sam is not as strong a person as you would think. Although that is debatable regarding whether she was a stronger woman before the accident or is a stronger woman now. Anyway, the biggest scene in this episode, in this season was finding out who was behind the wheel of the car that gave Sam amnesia. I always thought that was just a random act but apparently not! It was quite funny to see things come full circle and have Sam hit Gigi...even if Gigi didn't get amnesia too. This entire episode was so fun to watch and it is one of my favorites of the season!

Interview: Thomas Mikusz Talks About Being an Austrian Actor

Earlier in the month, I was able to speak with Austrian Actor, Thomas Mikusz right after Bruno released in theaters. I wanted to know what someone from Austria thought about the film and also what it is like being an Austrian Actor in Hollywood. It was such a fun interview and I hope you enjoy reading the interview as much as I enjoyed talking to Thomas.

How do you feel about the portrayal of Austrians in he movie, Bruno?
Everyone knows that with Sacha Baron Cohen, everything is over the top. I don't feel upset or anything about it. It's funny. The thing about it is that he portrays an Austrian but at the end of the day it could be anybody he could play.

What is it like being an Austrian actor in Hollywood as opposed to overseas?
It is interesting...sometimes challenging. Basically, I have to sell myself with a German accent since a lot of people don't know what to do with an Austrian actor.

Do you find that it is easier to work overseas as opposed to in Hollywood?
I have worked a lot in theatre which is easier overseas. It is funded by the government and it is easier to make a living there. Here it is quite impossible to make a living unless you are on Broadway, and that's even a maybe. Also there is a bigger side of production here in the United States.

You live in LA but how often do you go back home to Austria?
I go back once a year, sometimes twice a year. My entire family is over there and actually some of them will be coming here for about 2 weeks so that will be exciting.

What do you find in LA that is not in Austria and vice versa?
Number one on my list would be the sunshine. I am so close to Malibu, hiking in the desert, and driving up the coast. It is spectacular. The lifestyle over here is more easy going and positive as far as going for what you want. In Austria, a lot of my friends learn a profession young, like at 13 years and they stick with it. Basically you learn something and you do that for your entire life, there is no change. It is not that people don't want to change, it is just more difficult. Here in America, a lot of people change careers here and it works. It is much easier to do that here. What's missing here in America is the security - health insurance.

Did you always know that you wanted to move to America?
No, t kind of happened. I took dance class around 17/18 yeas old and a lot of people in class would go to NY. At the time it was so foreign to me, I thought, "Oh my God NY!, that sounds cool. I should try it out." So after I finished school, I became a flight attendant and traveled the world without having to pay for it. When I went to LA, I really liked it. I moved to Miami and NY first and then moved to LA. I did a lot of theatre work and modeling in Miami and NY.

What was it like being followed by a television crew for three weeks this Spring the popular European network, for RTL?
I had a really good time. The team that was with me was super nice. You build friendships with them so that was nice. We went to Malibu and I showed them my favorite spots and it was fun. It was good though because it helped me stay focused since I had people following me around and asking me questions.

Did you see Spring Awakening on Broadway before you were in the LA production?
No, I have never seen it on Broadway. I played one of the young children about 20 years ago in a theatre production. Then I recently did the play here in LA but that's it.

Big Brother 11 Week Three Eviction July 30, 2009

I really did not like seeing Casey and Jordan as nominees and Casey trying to rally votes while Jordan was tanning, just chillin'. It was great to see Casey getting into Russell’s head and trying to get an alliance going. Russell voting to evict Jordan was a great choice. Too bad Michele voted to evict Casey. The house voting to evict Casey was a bad idea. It will be interesting to see how long it takes people to realize that it was Russell who voted for Jordan. Will they care to find out or will they assume it was someone else? Only time will tell. As for the "announcement" of there no longer being cliques, that was expected. What wasn't expected was the other announcement. I like the twist that the coup d’etat will be able to overthrow the HoH in one of the next 2 evictions and it's up to America to decide who the coup d'etat will be! I don't see any way any good can come out of this...whoever the coup d'etat will be unless they are incredibly wise about every move that they make so that they stay in the house and possibly win after all is said and done. As I said before, only time will tell. As for the HoH competition, I'd really like Jordan or Kevin to win. We'll see.

Ashley Tisdale on UStream Tonight

Ashley Tisdale will be doing a live, interactive web chat on Ustream from NYC TONIGHT starting at 5pmPST/8pm EST.

Big Brother 11 Week Three PoV July 28, 2009

There was nothing all that interesting going on until the veto competition. It was fun to see the house guests react to the competition, especially Chima. Too funny. I was glad that Michele won something but I was nervous to see if she would use the veto and who she would use it for. I was glad that Kevin said that the athletes are making the others do their dirty work for them. He said it perfectly. I was so glad that word got out about Jessie possibly putting up Casey because I wanted Casey to have the chance to save himself. I was thinking that hopefully, that talk he had with Jessie did so. It didn't. I am so sad that Jordan and Casey are nominated. One of them is going home and that really sucks because I enjoy them both so much on the show and I wish the athletes didn't have so much power over the house! I have a feeling the announcement for Thursday will be that they will no longer play as cliques or their cliques will be switched. I would like the announcement that Laura would come back but I highly doubt that is the announcement. Anyway, we'll find out soon enough!

As for the have-nots food items this week...I'd choose brussel sprouts and borscht. Yes, I had to look up borscht to find out what the heck it was. These items seem the best of the 3 choices.

Big Brother 11 Week Three Nominations July 26, 2009

Jessie is personally right for not wanting to put up Ronnie since Ronnie is not an enemy in his eyes although game wise, he should think twice because Ronnie would not hesitate to play Jessie out. Anyway, Ronnie seems more into his secret alliance between him and Ronnie than Ronnie does. I'm sure they are both playing each other. I don't know if Ronnie is playing out his own team mate, Michele but Michele is very cautious and I would be too after what happened. Michele is smart in that sense but her going up to Jessie to kiss butt...I do not know what kind of talk she thought she was going to have with Jessie but her talk did not at all persuade him to be on her side. As for nominations...the "pwans" haha what a joke. Never be a pawn! Anyway, Jordan could be one of those people who is nominated every week and ends up being in the final 5. Right now, Jordan and Michele are weaker players than others so I would expect Ronnie or Russell to be back doored or Michele to go home eventually if I had to choose one over the other because on the surface she would seem to be the better player between her and Jordan. Only time will tell what happens.

Big Brother 11 Week Two Eviciton July 23, 2009

I really do not have a lot to say about this episode. Ronnie tried to take everyone down and in this episode, it totally backfired. Ronnie played the game too hard. Knowing how to play the game is not always a good thing...you can't play with all your cards at once! It's only a matter of time till Ronnie is out of the house. Now while I was glad that Ronnie was taken down, Russell harassing him every single time he left the HoH room was just plain wrong. Anyway, Laura was eliminated and I wish she could have stayed in the game longer. Getting to the HoH competition, it was crazy to see Jessie and Jeff in a tie. I was not at all happy to Jessie win HoH AGAIN. Oh my goodness. Again!!! This is ridiculous. No! This is just ridiculous.

Thankfully, I did not have to wait long for week two to pass since tonight is week three's HoH eviction/competition! Comic Con kept me busy last week and now I am back and all caught up on BB. I just hope Jessie doesn't win HoH every other week. Ugh what a nightmare. Not only is that terrible television but either all the other contestants are weak or they are throwing the comps. Him winning HoH more than once this early in the game should put a target on his back. The Off Beats, Jordan, Jeff, and Michele need to create an alliance against the rest of the house and start winning HoH comps every week! Time will tell.

Big Brother 11 Week Two PoV - July 21, 2009

Since I was in San Diego for Comic Con last week, I was unable to watch Big Brother so here are my thoughts from last week's PoV:

Russell's blow up was out of nowhere in a sense. He talked about a strategy and then totally went against what his strategy was. Odd. As for the PoV contest, it sucked that Russell and Natalie were picked to play veto. Laura did not stand a chance. I was thrilled that Jeff won the veto. I would rather see Laura in the game longer than Jeff but I am not complaining. As far as the talk the brains and athletes had about who to backdoor, I have no idea what Jessie was talking about when he put Laura and lies in the same sentence. Ronnie set himself up for a blow I know is set to come by showing his true colors and putting up Jordan in Jeff's place for nominations. Either could go home although Laura is a better player so it looks lie she would be the one to go home. Only time will tell!

As for food to give the have-nots...I pick cabbage and cocktail weenies since that seems like the best of the 3 options. That's all for now!

San Diego Comic Con - Sunday

On Sunday, July 26, 2009 it was all about Dr. Who and Ghost Whisperer.

I was thrilled to be able to attend the Doctor Who panel since I recently became very dedicated to the show. Actor David Tennant, writer/executive producer Russell T Davies, director Euros Lyn, and executive producer Julie Gardner discussed their experiences working on television's longest-running sci-fi series and answered questions from the audience. Although here is no script in the works for a Doctor Who film that would let David Tennant reprise his role, Tennant is open to returning for the fiftieth anniversary of Doctor Who in 2013! Asked about the new doctor, Matt Smith, Tennant said, "There is no one in Britain who has worked with Matt [Smith] who hasn't raved about him." It wad so bittersweet to see David Tennant since it will most likely be the first and last time I will ever see him in person promoting Doctor Who.

Then, I attended the Ghost Whisperer panel where the cast and executive producers presented hints and revelations about the addition of Melinda and Jim's new baby and more about the new season. Cast members, Jennifer Love Hewitt, David Conrad, Christoph Sanders, Jamie Kennedy, and Camryn Manheim and executive producers Ian Sander, Kim Moses, and P. K. Simonds attended the panel. Since the show is set five years in the future, Ned will be in college and dating, and his mom, Delia will also be dating! I am more excited though for the Jim and Melinda’s baby though! I am so excited for this season!

San Diego Comic Con - Saturday

On Saturday, July 25, 2009...well I wanted to be front row center for Glee and Heroes, so I spent the night in line and missed all of the morning panels.Once Glee & Heroes were over, I felt that I had accomplished all I wanted to for the day and that was that. Saturday was my favorite day of Comic Con.

In line, I met 10th Wonder Podcast hosts, Derek & Graham, and the new host, Joe, so that was exciting.

There were 2 panels before Glee & Heroes, Activision/Marvel with Stan Lee on the panel and Sanctuary.

For Glee, the audience was treated to a screening of the never before aired episode, “Showmance” which is due to premiere in the fall. Then, stars Matthew Morrison, Lea Michele Cory Monteith, and Dianna Agron as well as Ryan Murphy and Dante Di Loreto participated in the panel discussion. You can read an overview of what happened during the panel here and stay tuned for a new episode of the Gleek Squad Podcast for a more in depth discussion regarding the panel.

Here are fans camping out for Glee & Heroes:

Here's me holding up my L:

Here are the fans in line holding up their Ls:

Glee:

For Heroes, audience members saw a first look at "Redemption" and if it wasn’t announced that all of the footage was only from the first 3 episodes, I would have thought that it was footage from an entire season. That is how packed with action, suspense, and so much fun this show is filled with for the upcoming season. Blair Butler moderated the panel and Tim Kring, Hayden Panettiere, Adrian Pasdar, Milo Ventimiglia, Masi Oka, Zachary Quinto, and Jack Coleman attended the panel. Also in attendance were 3 new actors for the upcoming season, Robert Knepper, Dawn Olivieri, and Ray Park. I am interested to see these episodes with these new characters! So much happens in the next season and based on the preview, it looks like it is getting back to how amazing it was in Season 1, so I can’t wait until the fall. “We see time traveling a lot more [this season]," Masi Oka said. Yay!

Glee and Heroes were the only panels that I attended on Saturday, but I finally attended Masquerade! Don’t get too excited, I only stayed for half the event. There were 43 contestants and I stayed for 23 of them. My favorites of the first 23 were The Phantom of the Opera costume and the Dr. Horrible number. I wish I knew who won. Well, that was my Saturday!

Oh, I also met Ben Lyons (Th Daily 10) walking down the street in the Gaslamp District on my way back to the convention from getting a bite to eat.

On the same street, 2 blocks down, I bumped into actress, Lindsay Price. It was great to see her again, as the first time was new year's eve when I had on a Britney Spears wig. Ha.

I also ran into Whip It promoters! How fun!

San Diego Comic Con - Friday

On Friday, July 24, 2009 I attended the majority of panels in Ballroom 20.

The first panel in Ballroom 20 was for Stargate Universe and I have never seriously watched Stargate so I didn't know what to expect exactly. Not only does it look interesting but David Blue is part of the cast, so I am sold. The difference between the first 2 Stargate series and this one is that in this one the characters are not people you would think would be on the show. So, that makes it more relatable I think and I can’t wait to watch it.

The next panel was dedicated to Caprica/Battlestar Galactica and although I have never been devoted to BSG, you do not have to have previously seen BSG to enjoy Caprica so that is good. That’s all I needed to know because I do want to watch Caprica. Caprica will debut on Friday, January 22, 2010. Jane Espenson mentioned that she brought a lot of dark humor to Caprica so I am even more excited!

Finally, the panel that I had been waiting for began! The Big Bang Theory cast, and executive producers Chuck Lorre (Two and a Half Men) and Bill Prady (Dharma & Greg), held a very entertaining Q&A! The reason I finally started watching this show regularly was because I was so entertained with the cast at Comic Con last year, so it was great to see the cast this time as a hardcore fan of the show.

Next, the panel for 24 began and I was all too excited to see the 3 new characters attend the panel as well… Freddie Prinze Jr, Katee Sackhoff, and Anil Kapoor. It was exciting to see a trailer of the new season with the new characters and a scene from the new season with Kiefer Sutherland.

Then, the panel for Bones began with a sad note - David Boreanaz was not going to be on the panel after all. He was back in LA with his wife who is due to give birth any minute. Although Emily Deschanel did appear and she is hilarious. I did not know she was so incredibly funny! The next season of Bones is set six weeks after the season finale. Cyndi Lauper will guest star in the season opener as a psychic. Lauper approached Hanson about guest starring on Bones after seeing Deschanel perform “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” earlier in the series. I recently started watching Bones reruns on TNT, so it was nice to see what was coming up in the next season. Plus, I love Cyndi Lauper, so that is even more exciting.

Next, the one and only Joss Whedon came out and treated the audience with a 2 hour panel pertaining to Dollhouse and everything Joss Whedon related. Dollhouse stars, Eliza Dushku, Dichen Lachmann, and Fran Kranz also appeared on the panel. There was much talk about where season 2 of Dollhouse is headed. Eliza and Dichen talked about what their favorite characters were to play. I do not know what my favorite of Eliza’s is but my favorite of Dichen’s is when she plays Topher’s friend. That was just great! Anyway, it was just really great to be in Joss Whedon’s presence. Not to sound creepy or anything but I look up to him so much! But before the cast of Dollhouse came out to chat with the audience, Joss Whedon screened the never-before-seen Dollhouse episode, "Epitaph One." This episode is available on DVD and I cannot wait to get the DVD because this episode is one of my favorite Dollhouse episodes so far!

The last panel of the day for me was the TV Guide Magazine: Sci Fi Hot List where “TV Guide magazine takes an in-depth look at some of the most buzzed-about new and returning TV series.” TV Guide executive editor Craig Tomashoff moderated this panel which included Johnny Galecki (The Big Bang Theory), Zachary Levi (Chuck), Jim Parsons (The Big Bang Theory), Scott Peters (executive producer, V), Rebecca Romijn (Eastwick), Kevin Williamson (executive producer, The Vampire Diaries), Scott Wolf (V), John Cho (Flash Forward), Marc Guggenheim (producer, Flash Forward), Allison DuBois (the real person behind Medium). Zachary Levi stole the show and I wish Rebecca Romijn spoke more about East wick (I didn’t get the chance to go to the Eastwick panel). Everytime Scott Wolf talked, all I heard and saw was Bailey from Party of Five. Sorry? It was incredibly amazing to see the real life Allison DuBois since I love the show, Medium. She made it clear that she does not wake up in the middle of the night and have that breath taking moment every time she has a vision. She doesn’t have sleeping problems and her visions do not only come when she is sleep. I would love to sit down and talk to Allison…I do not know if she didn’t talk as much as the others on the panel, or if I just wanted to hear more from her. Either way, it was exciting to see her and everyone else on the panel. Friday rocked!

San Diego Comic Con - Thursday

On Thursday, July 23, 2009 I attended the majority of panels that were held in Hall H.

First, was the Disney: 3D Panel where key filmmakers and select cast members showed previously unseen footage from the upcoming films, Disney’s A Christmas Carol, Alice In Wonderland and Tron Legacy. For Alice in Wonderland, panelists included Robert Zemeckis, Tim Burton, Sean Bailey, Steve Lisberger, and moderator Patton Oswalt. and I think Patton was my favorite moderator of all of the panels I went to during Comic Con. He was incredibly hilarious (as always) and I loved when he said, "there's no better way to honor the filmmaker than posting crappy footage on the internet." There was also a surprise guest, Johnny Depp came out during the Alice In Wonderland panel. I expected Johnny Depp to be there ever since I found out that Alice In Wonderland would be at Comic Con so that was a fun treat. You might find it interesting that Robert Zemeckis said if there were a Roger Rabbit sequel, it would indeed be in 2D. It sounded like he thought about this a lot so I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw a Roger Rabbit sequel in the future. Anyway, A Christmas Carol and Tron Legacy look incredible in 3D and the concept art for Tron Legacy is also incredible but I am really anticipating the 3D release of Alice In Wonderland. As a huge fan of Alice In Wonderland and Tim Burton…and after seeing the footage, it is safe to say that this very well maybe my favorite Burton film ever! You are going to love it! Watch the Alice in Wonderland trailer here.

The next panel was the 3D Showcase for Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs, The Hole, and The Final Destination. The audience got a first look at all of these films in 3D. Anna Faris and Andy Samberg literally walked out onto the stage to wave and say hi and then walked out. There just wasn’t enough time for a panel since Hall H panels started late that day. I was bummed but life goes on. Director Joe Dante (Gremlins 1 & 2) and actress Haley Bennett (The Haunting of Molly Hartley) came out to talk about the new thriller The Hole. “Three kids come face to face with their darkest fears after they unlock a bottomless hole in the basement that makes their nightmares come to life.” Then, the audience saw the uncut version of the The Final Destination, extended trailer. All three of the films look great and I am looking forward to each of the equally.

Next, was the Summit Entertainment panel, showcasing Astro Boy (“A superhero origin story set in a futuristic world based on the classic manga), Sorority Row (Five sorority girls inadvertently cause the murder of one of their sisters in a prank gone wrong and a mysterious killer goes after them), and of course New Moon. Audiences were treated to exclusive footage for all of these films. Director David Bowers, producer Maryanne Grager, and stars Freddie Highmore (Astro) and Kristen Bell (Cora) came to promote Astro Boy. The entire main cast of Sorority Row came to promote their film. However, time ran short for these 2 panels because it was really all about New Moon! Audiences saw 2 scenes from the upcoming film and various main cast members came, including Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, Ashley Greene, and director, Chris Weitz. The panel was more civilized this year (aka the fan girls did not ask ridiculously lame questions or cheer after every cast member said something). The cast talked about what they are excited for in the coming films and Kristen can't wait to get pregnant! Neither can I! Wait for her to get pregnant that is. I enjoyed the panel very much and I cannot wait until this movie is in theaters!

Next, James Cameron, producer Jon Landau, and cast members including Sigourney Weaver and Zoe Saldana premiered 25 minutes of never before seen footage of the highly anticipated film, Avatar. I was blown away by the footage and I am sure that you will be too! James announced that on August 21st, Fox will take over IMAX 3D and digital 3D theaters to screen 15 minutes from Avatar for free to whoever wants to see it. The official trailer will also arrive online on August 21st as well.

Then, animator and director Terry Gilliam showed footage of his new film, The Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus, which was Heath Ledger’s last film. I was curious to see what this film was about and after seeing the footage of what this magical world brings, I cannot wait to see this!

Next, Overture Pictures presented Pandorum from the producers of the Resident Evil film franchise. This is a thriller in which I was originally interested in seeing, however I am not so interested in the film anymore. The footage is amazing, it is just not my kind of film is all. Appearing in person were stars Ben Foster (X-Men: The Last Stand), Cung Le (The Ultimate Fighter), and Antje Traue.

Closing out the day, I attended an extremely fun panel for the upcoming film, Kick-Ass. Director Matthew Vaughn (Stardust), Christopher Mintz-Plasse (Superbad), Clark Duke (Clark and Michael), Chloe Moretz (Dirty Sexy Money) and comic co-creators Mark Millar and John Romita Jr. all attended the panel. I know I was shocked to see the young Chloe Moretz play a killer. The girl is younger than my sister so that was odd, funny, but odd. This comedy is definitely something that you want to look out for next year. Hopefully, Vaughn will find a distributor for the film soon. That was my Thursday at Comic Con and it was well worth the wait!
