If you're not a lucky winner, you can always get these new Flirt products exclusively at Kohls for a limited time!

There are New Limited Edition Flirty Eye Enhancing Palettes (.16 oz) for Green, Blue, Brown, and Hazel eyes! Each Palette contains 4 shades, including the base shade.

For example, the Blue Palette has 4 Apply shades; First, apply the Peachy Beige, then Taupe, Deep Plum, and lastly Coppery Bronze. I don't have blue eyes, but I can tell you that I love the shades available for brown eyes! Each Palette is available for $16.

For those who want flirty lips, check out the Flirt High Wattahe Intense & Creamy LipColor (.13 oz, $12) which has such a rich color! I absolutely love how full and rich this LipColor is! I was given "23 Tootsie" which isn't picture above and doesn't quite fit my skin tone - not even in a bold kind of way, but I love mixing LipColors, so I won't have a problem fitting this into my beauty collection.

For those mascara addicts, the New Flirty "All That Lash" Volumizing Mascara is Flirt's boldest mascara yet. It is noticeably thick when you pull the big brush out of the tube and its fibers go in all directions which really helps give your eyes a fuller look. This mascara provides great separation and color (ever had blue or brown mascara?) and while I haven't worn it for 15 hours, that is how long this mascara apparently lasts. the New Flirty "All That Lash" Volumizing Mascara is available for $14.

Valentine's Day is over but that doesn't mean the romance is gone. So heat things up with these new Flirt Cosmetics and look just as good as Glee star, Heather Morris!

Renee, The Film Inspired by To Write Love on Her Arms Has Begun Filming

The story that inspired the creation of To Write Love on Her Arms is coming to the big screen in the upcoming film, RENEE and has begun shooting as of February 23, 2011.

To Write Love on Her Arms is a non-profit movement dedicated to presenting hope and finding help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury and suicide. TWLOHA exists to encourage, inform, inspire and also to invest directly into treatment and recovery.

“RENEE,” is inspired by the true story of 19 year old Renee Yohe, a young Florida woman on the rocky road to recovery as she struggles with addiction, depression and self-injury.

The film is directed by Nathan Frankowski and stars Kat Dennings (“Thor,” “Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist”) as Renee, Chad Michael Murray (“One Tree Hill”) as Jamie Tworkowski, and Rupert Friend (“The Young Victoria,” “Pride & Prejudice”) as David McKenna, a recovering addict who offers his home to Renee as a safe haven. The supporting cast includes Corbin Bleu (“High School Musical”), Mark Saul (“The Social Network,” “Grey’s Anatomy”) and newcomers Will Peltz (“Sugar”) and Juliana Harkavy (upcoming “Dolphin Tale”).

Musical performances in the film will include that of artists Travie McCoy and singer/songwriter Rachael Yamagata, among others.

Friend of Renee's and TWLOHA Founder, Jamie Tworkowski worked as a story consultant on the script and some TWLOHA staff worked on the set to dress the TWLOHA office and staff. Interns were extras in the first day of filming.

Since its start in 2006, To Write Love on Her Arms has donated over $850,000 directly into treatment and recovery.

Book Review - American Idol: The Untold Story By Richard Rushfield

Richard Rushfield goes deeper inside the circus of American Idol than any reporter ever has. Candid interviews with Idol alumni, including Simon Fuller and Simon Cowell shed new light on the show that changed the entertainment industry. Rushfield has had full access to the people who created American Idol, starred in it, and kept it atop the pop culture pyramid. This is the first book to take Americans behind the curtain and tell what has really been happening on the world's most watched and speculated-about stage.

American Idol: The Untold Story
by Richard Rushfield is a welcome addition to every American Idol fan collection. This book is the untold story behind Idol that I, among many others had been waiting to find out for years on end.

It starts off telling the lives of Simon Fuller, Simon Cowell, and Nigel Lythgoe before Idol which transitions smoothly into the creation of Pop Idol in the UK. Once Pop Idol is brought to the US, Rushfield details the development of compared to future season can be seen as the loosely organized first season, sharing personal accounts from Season One contestants. The way that Rushfield blends his interviews, his research, and his own accounts (in an unbiased way) on the set and behind the scenes..it is so well done that viewers will be captivated from the moment they finish page one. This book can easily be read in one sitting.

While there is less about the individual season contests than expected, this book is filled with plenty of information for fans who have wanted to know about what went into making this phenomenon. It leaves the reader satisfied, whether a longtime Idol fan or not. Rushfield clearly lays out how the audition process advanced over the seasons, for example with background checks. He also plainly lays out the controversies surrounding those caught in scandals despite the background checks. Some of these victims like, Frenchie Davis did not let their scandal get the best of them, having gone on to play a role in Rent on Broadway...while others such as Corey Clarke cause even producers' eyes to roll when reminiscing on past seasons.

While there were surely many arguments along the way amongst contestants, Rushfield does not discuss any of these negative moments with a gossip mentality. He briefly highlights the tension amongst certain contestants just as much as he highlights the long lasting friendships of others.

What I found to be incredibly fascinating was how Rushfield describes the lack of judge interaction and mentorship with contestants after the first season, or in Paula Abdul's case, after the Corey Clarke scandal. Having not watched any season of American Idol in its entirety, there was so much that came to light for me through reading this book. I was blown away probably more than the judges were with the pleasant surprise of Kelly Clarkson.

Detailing the journeys of the judges, executive producers, and contestants is really just the beginning for Rushfield, as he breaks down the modifications over the season from production design to the show's format, and the introduction of Idol Gives Back among other changes and additions. Ratings and the voting system are explained in a general way - easy for anyone to understand, just as clearly as it is stated that Season 6 was the weakest season (aside from 9) yet Season 6 also had the most amount of successful artists (singers, actors, etc...).

There are some very thought provoking stories shared as well. For one, I must have been under a rock when the press had a field day with the news that Simon Fuller sued Simon Cowell over the creation of X Factor. Rushfield did not mention anything of the sort happening with Lythgoe (So You Think You Can Dance) when Randy Jackson took on America's Best Dance Crew. Perhaps Lythgoe is more open minded than Fuller? I don't know. I also did not get far enough into Seasons 8 and 9 to understand the chemistry between the new judges and the longtime trio, so this was very interesting to finally learn about outside of ridiculous press headlines.

Rushfield also shares a lot about the rules the contestants had to follow off screen and what an eye opener this may be for some. The Idol journey is certainly not as glamorous as it may seem. Actually, the road after Idol is not nearly as glamorous as it may seem for many contestants even in the top 10 hoping to get record deals. In one of the latter chapters of the book, many of the contestants tell Rushfield about living in the Idol bubble, having the time of their lives on tour, but not having much direction or success in the business afterwords along with not being prepared for being publicly recognized and how that affects their ability to shop...or get hired.

The most fascinating untold stories in this book for me seem to be how much the website, Vote for the Worst evolved over the years (whether it impacted the show's votes or not), the salary negotiations (though Randy Jackson's salary is not mentioned once), and Leesa Bellesi, the woman who helped the families of many contestants come to Los Angeles to see and support their loved ones on the Idol journey. And what a journey it has been that American Idol has taken so many on.

Rushfield's interview with Brian Dunkleman seems depressing at first but clearly Dunkleman is content with his life, so it seems there is no reason now to feel sorry for "the man who walked away from a job on American Idol." There is definitely more history given regarding the original judges and more significant contestants from season 6 and under while the new judges, Kara DioGuardi and Ellen DeGeneres are briefly mentioned. For the amount of time spent discussing Season 1, the film, "From Justin to Kelly" did not get nearly the coverage that I expected. While the book may not 100% explore every area of everything Idol, it does at least mention the successes and failures of all things Idol. The book is
mostly chronological but as it was clearly rushed to print for the premiere of the show's 10th season, there was a bit of repetitiveness. Overall, this book succeeds in telling the untold story of the history of the making of American Idol. With 2 color photo section inserts, this is a fun and informative read that I definitely recommend.

Richard Rushfield, author of American Idol: The Untold Story, for three years has covered American Idol for the Los Angeles Times, writing hundreds of columns and conducting thousands of interviews with cast and crew. He is currently an entertainment columnist for The Daily Beast, a Vanity Fair contributing editor, and author of its long-running "Intelligence Report" column.

American Idol: The Untold Story by Richard Rushfield is in book stores now.

DVD Review: Due Date

Release Date: February 22, 2011
Rating: R
Running Time: 95 minutes

From The Hangover director Todd Phillips, Due Date throws two unlikely companions together on a road trip that turns out to be as life-changing as it is outrageous. Expectant first-time father Peter Highman (Robert Downey Jr.) looks forward to his new child?s due date five days away. As Peter hurries to catch a flight home from Atlanta to be at his wife?s side for the birth, his best intentions go completely awry when an encounter with aspiring actor Ethan Tremblay (Zach Galifianakis) forces Peter to hitch a ride with Ethan on a cross-country trip that will ultimately destroy several cars, many friendships and Peter?s last nerve.

Due Date puts together a very odd pairing of Peter, a mature adult with his flaws and Ethan, an incredibly childish adult with what seems to be mostly flaws. Due to an incident on the airplane, the two end up going on quite a rocky road trip to California from Atlanta - Peter for the birth of his firstborn and Ethan for his acting career. This unexpected path takes realistic ideas as to what could happen on a road trip and then puts a spin on things. These situations include a fight at Western Union, Ethan's drug pick up, and a wrong turn into the Mexican border check point. So while the film is quite predictable, there is still something to appreciate here. The cameos from Juliette Lewis, Dan McBride, and Jamie Foxx also help.

Now while Due Date is a laugh out loud comedy, the amount of comedy and the pace of the comedy did not live up to expectations. There were far more dramatic moments and awkward silences than expected and the character development seemed unfinished. Peter is an uptight guy so it is delightful to see the rare moments when his walls come down...but they are few and far between. Back story on his father is explained but something tells me that's not the only reason, perhaps not the main reason that he is so incredibly uptight. Then there's Ethan. Everything about his lifestyle is questionable in the beginning, middle, and end of the film. What needs to be explained and shown about these characters is really not. For example, there is a very inappropriate and unnecessary moment when the viewers find out how Ethan and his dog fall asleep.

These characters didn't exactly grow into better people in the end. They are the same as they were before they met and seem to be the same when they part ways. By the end of the film, you'll be reminded as to why these characters are likable even though you've just sat through all of the reasons why they're not. Unfortunately, that moment of genuine likability, that positive connection to the characters doesn't carry the film. So ultimately, the idea of this comedy is far greater than the execution. While enjoyable, Due Date had so much more potential. The screenwriters should have spent more time maturing this baby because it came out too soon.

Special Features Exclusively on Blu-ray:
* Complete Two And A Half Men Scene Featuring Ethan Tremblay
* Additional Scenes
* Due Date Action Mash-Up - Compilation of the Physical Comedy
* Due Date Too Many Questions Mash-Up - What Makes Ethan the Most Annoying Guy With Whom You Could Ever Be Stuck In A Car?
* Gag Reel

Due Date is available on Blu-ray Combo Pack, DVD, On Demand, and for Download today!

DVD Review: Jefferson

Release Date: February 15, 2011
Rating: Not Rated
Running Time: 91 minutes

Thomas Jefferson is the most researched, most written about, most referenced, and most quoted of our Founding Fathers. And yet, somehow, he remains the most stubbornly inscrutable. His life is a seemingly impenetrable thicket of contradictions: he enshrined the words “All Men are Created Equal,” and yet was a lifelong slave-owner; he was simultaneously a “man of the people” and the personification of the Virginia aristocrat; he was a die-hard American revolutionary who was also a dedicated lover of European culture and art; he advocated ruthless fiscal responsibility as president, yet his own finances were mired in debt.

As we get set to commemorate him during President’s Day (2/21), embrace and celebrate the third president’s complicated life and legacy in the two-hour HISTORY® documentary, JEFFERSON, arriving on DVD this February. For viewers fascinated with Presidential history, this compelling documentary is the must-see story of a national icon who remains, in historian Joseph Ellis’ memorable phrase, “a great American Sphinx”.

This documentary begins with a re-enactment of Thomas Jefferson's last days in July 1826, Monticello. It is made a point that Jefferson was the principal writer of the Declaration of Independence before talk of his early years starts. Although there is not an awful lot said about his early years. Viewers are told about his birth and there is a brief mention about what it was like for Jefferson to grow up in Central Virginia. Jefferson's educational trek at 16 years old is barely touched upon, as the documentary moves quickly to get to Jefferson's political days. Before getting there though, viewers do become familiar with a brave move he made taking on African American clients probono in his days as a lawyer.

When Jefferson does switch his gears to politics, he becomes the second youngest delegate at Continental Congress, one of his many accomplishments in his early political career. There is a good amount of detail given in regards to Jefferson's political achievements and rough patches...from drafting over 100 bills and being a representative for the US in France to running away when the British invaded Virginia. His presidency is discussed in the last 45 minutes, particularly The Louisiana Purchase which one interviewee describes as when "political reality trumped political theory." The doc doesn't dwell into Jefferson's not so wonderful second term, but instead skips over this period to discuss Jefferson's second and final retirement and building the University of Virginia before his death.

The documentary also explains plainly the playfully rough friendship with John Adams and later the really rough relationship with Alexander Hamilton which among other things led to his leaving the cabinet and leaving
politics the first time.

Not to overlook his personal life, it is shared that very little is known about his wife, Martha who was an accomplished musician, their 2 adult children, and grandchildren. Although it seems that more is known about his second relationship with Sally Hemings, whom he had six children with. The topic of Jefferson's close relationships with a few of the 135 slaves that he inherited is somewhat grazed over. It seems a visual, such as a family tree would be more helpful than the document detailing the slaves that he was inherited.

What is overlooked though are Jefferson's accomplishments as a writer. The documentary mentions the thousands of letters he wrote and the document he wrote, "A Summary View of the Rights of British America" in which he challenged the King. Though this is not nearly enough coverage to appreciate all that he has written, aside from the Declaration.

Overall, this is a good informational tool from the History Channel that is easy to get hooked into, because of the very well spoken interviewees and professional, realistic, and top notch re-enactments and historical images to go with the voice over narration. Jefferson will give viewers a somewhat more than general idea of Jefferson's life and will spark viewers to find out even more about this intriguing man.

Out of the Wild: Venezuela Premieres on Discovery

Last night was the series premiere of Out of the Wild: Venezuela on the Discovery Channel and what a captivating premiere it was!

Out Of The Wild: Venezuela follows nine people who have left their lives behind to embark on a journey that will change their lives forever. They were flown in and stranded deep in the heart of the Southern frontier of Venezuela with one task: make it back to civilization alive. The only lifeline to the outside world is a GPS beacon attached to each individual. If they can't handle life in the wilderness, they can push the button and summon a search and rescue helicopter. This is not a game. There is no prize at the end. No one is voted off. Their reward was the chance to have an experience that would change their lives forever.

In the premiere episodes, which covers the first three days of the adventure, the group takes quite the trek to their supplies, food, and shelter, which ultimately is improvised if the group does not reach their shelter before dark. Army Ranger, Nick and Park Ranger/Wildlife Artist, Tara among others try to lead the group given their individual strengths, but ultimately Nick decides that he's not going to wait on anyone to get back to civilization. Hmmm. Then there's Wildlife Technician, Michael who experiences a minor injury along the way but doesn't give up on the trek just as Operations Manager, Carolina doesn't when she nears hypothermia. There's a lot to appreciate about the rest of the adventure seekers and nature which we will get to see in this eight-part series. Lost fans especially will enjoy this show just as much if not more than I am already. So make sure to tune in every Thursday night to watch this wild and unpredictable adventure unfold!

Out of the Wild: Venezuela airs Thursdays at 10/9c on Discovery.

Margaret Colin Cast in Broadway's Arcadia

Following the show's successful run in London and following her successful run in Love, Loss, and What I Wore, Margaret Colin can be seen this Spring in the limited Broadway engagement of Arcadia.

April 1809, an elegant English country estate… a gifted pupil, proposes a startling theory well beyond her comprehension. All around her, the adults, including her tutor, are preoccupied with secret desires, illicit passions and professional rivalries.

Two hundred years later, two academic adversaries are piecing together puzzling clues, curiously recalling those events of 1809 in their quest for an increasingly elusive truth.

Directed by five-time Tony Award nominee David Leveaux, Arcadia also stars, Billy Crudup, RaĂşl Esparza, Glenn Fleshler, Grace Gummer, Edward James Hyland, Byron Jennings, Bel Powley, Tom Riley, Noah Robbins, David Turner and Lia Williams.

As if Arcadia wasn't fascinating enough, I cannot wait to see what this all star cast brings to the table.

Previews begin February 26, 2011 and opening night is set for March 17, 2011. Tickets are available now.

Borders Is Closing 200 Stores This April 2011

It's a pretty sad week for book lovers like me who have just found out that 200 Borders Book Stores in 35 states (including Puerto Rico) will be closing in April due to the company going bankrupt.

On the other hand, it's a very exciting opportunity for us book lovers, as starting tomorrow, discounts from 20% to 40% with limited exceptions will be offered on all merchandise at every closing location. There will also be numerous price reductions on music albums, DVDs, calendars, posters, puzzles and arts and crafts items.

I am particularly bummed about the Borders stores in Freehold, NJ, Manhattan, NY, King of Prussia, PA, Los Angeles, CA on Santa Monica Blvd, and San Diego, CA in the Gaslamp Quarter.

January 31st wasn't that long ago...so which one you guys are getting me a belated birthday gift card?

Mini Series, Mildred Pierce Is Coming To HBO This March

Coming to HBO this March is the 5 part mini series, Mildred Pierce starring Oscar and Golden Globe winner, Kate Winslet (Revolutionary Road, The Reader).

Based on the novel by James M. Cain, Mildred Pierce is the epic story of a proud single mother struggling to earn her daughter’s love during the Great Depression in middle-class Los Angeles.

This looks fabulous! It's definitely a must see! The cast and crew are sure to be recognized during award season next year, so don't miss it this March or you'll be left out of the great discussion that Mildred Pierce will cause this Spring.

Mildred Pierce is directed by Todd Haynes (I’m Not There), written by Haynes and Jon Raymond, and stars Guy Pearce (The Hurt Locker), Evan Rachel Wood (The Wrestler), BrĂan O’Byrne (FlashForward), James LeGros (Skateland), Melissa Leo (Frozen River, HBO’s Treme), Mare Winningham (George Wallace) and Hope Davis (HBO’s In Treatment).

Mildred Pierce premieres on HBO March 27, 2011.

Interview With Hawk Nelson's Jason Dunn

Having just released their new album, Crazy Love currently performing in venues across America, Hawk Nelson band mate, Jason Dunn took some time out to talk to Hollywood the Write Way about the latest album.

So where did you guys record Crazy Love?
We recorded our album "Crazy Love" in Nashville, TN. It was a great recording experience. We all live in the Nashville area now, so it was really nice to go home every night after work.

What was the album titled before Crazy Love?
Fun fact: While writing the record, the working title was "Truthbombs." Many of the songs on this record talk about truth and honesty, honest confessions of the heart.

Can you explain the connection to Francis Chan’s book, "Crazy Love?"
Francis Chan's book "Crazy Love" inspired our song of the same title. I was reading that book while I was in the studio. The book reiterated the fact that Jesus Christ willingly gave his life for a sinner like me. I don't deserve grace and forgiveness, but He thinks otherwise. To me, that's worth singing about!

I agree! Now there are 13 songs that you guys sing on the album, but were there more songs recorded for the album?
When I'm not on the road, I'm constantly writing new material. For this record, I brought 19 songs to the table. The leftovers I'm keeping for myself. I am working on a solo record now so you'll be able to hear the leftovers!

That's really exciting! I can't wait to hear them. But as for the songs that are new to our ears right now...which track would you say is the most personal to you?
The last song "Thanks For The Beautiful Memories" is a song written for the fans. A lot of our fans have been with us since we've started. I think they deserve a song.

Definitely. And which track would you say has been changed the most from conception to the final recorded version?
"We Can Change the World" is a song that has changed the most. To be honest, I didn't want to record the song. I just wasn't feeling it. Luckily, our producer Ian Eskelin wanted to keep it and had a better vision for the song than I did. Now it's one of my favorites!

What was the most challenging song to record in regards to the vocal arrangements?
Difficult vocal arrangement? Come on, I'm a pro. (smiles)

Awesome. And lastly, what's the story behind "LAX" and "Joanna?" They were very unexpected tracks considering the other tracks are quite spiritual.
"LAX" & "Joanna" are both about 6 years old. They were just fun songs and I thought they deserved a shot.

Crazy Love is available now and Hawk Nelson is on the road now. Visit www.hawknelson.com for more info.

The Italians Love Matt Lanter

Hmm...would I rather be in Los Angeles, California stalking the hotness that is 90210's Matt Lanter or in Italy picking up this magazine?

Matt Lanter is looking pretty good on the cover of the Italian magazine, Cioe with Taylor Lautner, Robert Pattinson, Zac Efron, and Alex Pettyfer. It's great to see Italy putting the spotlight on young Hollywood and all but let's get Matt as the cover boy come time for the 90210 season finale...or on the April cover during his birthday? Who's with me?!

90210 airs Mondays at 8/7c only on The CW.

DVD Review: Life As We Know It

Release Date: February 8, 2011
Rating: PG-13
Running Time: 114 Minutes

After a disastrous first date for caterer Holly (Katherine Heigl) and network sports director Messer (Josh Duhamel), all they have is common is a dislike for each other and their love for their goddaughter Sophie. But when they suddenly become all Sophie has in this world, Holly and Messer must set their differences aside. Juggling careers and social calendars, they?ll have to find common ground while living under the same roof. Josh Lucas, Christina Hendricks, Hayes MacArthur and Jean Smart co-star in this tart and tender romantic comedy directed by Greg Berlanti (Brothers & Sisters, Everwood).

Life As We Know It though predictable is a wildly entertaining romantic comedy that brings two characters together who are charming in their own way but not to each other...that is until time proves otherwise. It's nice to see Heigl and Duhamel in suburban roles and the supporting cast is fantastic. Together, Holly and Messer struggle with their new found parenthood that they have been willed in a stereotypical suburban neighborhood, but you'll still laugh and cry and everything in between. Holly and Messer are so independent and have such opposite personalities, goals, and ways of communication, that the situations these two get themselves into without even trying are more comedic than you'd expect. The film has a few gags, equally among the main and supporting cast members that will leave viewers either stuck with their mouth open in shock or chuckling...or both. Aside from these somewhat complex characters and the comedic path life has taken them on, there's a lot of heart in this film...the kind of heart that can only blossom with a baby in the picture. So it is very sincere in the journey that the characters are being taken on and that is something that can be appreciated. Life As We Know It is a pleasant film if you're expectations aren't high in regards to completely fresh ideas in Hollywood. While it does take quite a bit of time until the film really gets into its groove and really wrap up its groove, it's both realistic and hilarious enough in its Hollywood way to be enjoyable enough to add to your collection.

Bonus Features Exclusively on Blu-ray:
* A Survival Guide To Instant Parenting
* Katherine Heigl: Becoming the Best Mom Ever
* Josh Duhamel: The Triplet Tamer
* Additional Scenes

Life As We Know It is available on Blu-ray Combo Pack, DVD, On Demand, and For Download today.

Album Review: Francesca Battistelli's Hundred More Years

I have been waiting for this moment since I first discovered Francesca Battistelli back in 2009. Francesca's new album, Hundred More Years releases next month!

"This Is The Stuff" is the first single off the album and is not at all what I was expecting as a tease to Hundred More Years. While the song is not as commercial and intriguing as say her track, "Don't Miss It," it's catchy and fun and the message throws the listeners back to reality. The single also sets up a very sweet tone to the album. I love everything about the next track, "Constant" from the vocals to the instruments and song arrangement to the lyrics. The lyrics...there's definitely a running theme on this album in that God is always there for you and everything has its place. And it is so wonderful to sing along to. The beginning of the song reminds me of Bethany Dillon's "When You Love Someone" but it works. Everything works about this song.

Then there's the track, "You Never Are" which talks about how we are never far, never too late, etc... because we have God's grace, which as she sings in the song, is underestimated. This is a song that people of all ages need to hear and play everyday and all day long until they get a breakthrough to fret not, get up, and become more successful in all areas of their lives. "Angel By Your Side" is just as captivating as one would expect as the lyrics are so incredibly heartfelt. The song would actually sound even more angelic live, with just the acoustic guitar or piano. Then there's, "Motion of Mercy" which is really close to my heart and brings me close to tears because everyday I find new reasons to appreciate God's mercy and grace. Everyday. "Motion of Mercy" comes from such a genuine place and that is what makes this such a wonderful worship song.

"Emily (It's Love)" featuring Dave Barnes is such a fun song! It has the potential to be the most fun song on the album when performed live. The vocals sync so well and you will not be able get the chorus out of your head. This is one of those songs that everyone will find themselves jamming to and once they listen to the lyrics, they'll find that it's all about God's unconditional love. What better a song to jam to? The lyrics are truly phenomenal on this album. I loved My Paper Heart but I love Hundred More Years even more!

"Good to Know" is a song about reassurance. It's uplifting however the song itself seems to be somewhat mediocre - and only because I'm at a point in my life where I am not at the feet of God searching for reassurance. When I do need this song, it will bear more importance. "So Long" is sweet candy. It's about moving onto the good things and saying goodbye to the bad. The instruments are few, making the song arrangement very well thought out and yet so fluid and simple...as change and growth for the most part should be. My only issue is that this track is not the last song on the album, because I would love to hear the entire album and then repeat this song for the remainder of the day. Although that's nothing I can't fix in iTunes.

"Worth It" is a song that can be taken so many different ways because there are so many different forms of love. There's falling in love, there's showing love for strangers and those in need, there's the love you express to your family, etc... For those that know me personally, I have zero intentions of getting married. So after hearing the lyrics, "Love's not easy but it's worth it" I groaned...and continued to listen since it's Francesca Battistelli. Then I heard, "Love can heal you if you let it inside." Okay, Okay. You got me Francesca. That being said, "Hundred More Years" is going to be the wedding song of 2011! What a beautiful song. It truly gives more meaning to the word beautiful.

Hundred More Years is an album that will still be getting played in my family in one hundred more years. It is one of the most engaging and inspiring Christian albums that I have ever owned. Francesca Battistelli is a fantastic song writer, story teller, vocalist, musician, and so much more. This album is yet another reason why Francesca Battistelli is Grammy Award worthy and I cannot wait to see where this album takes her.

Hundred More Years hits stores and iTunes on March 1, 2011.

Check out Francesca Battistelli on the Winter Jam 2011 Tour now.

Coming To Theaters Next Month: Battle LA

Ever since the Battle LA panel at Comic Con, I have been anticipating the release of this film...and the time is finally near for its release!

For years, there have been documented cases of UFO sightings around the world –Buenos Aires, Seoul, France, Germany, China. But in 2011, what were once just sightings will become a terrifying reality when Earth is attacked by unknown forces. As people everywhere watch the world’s great cities fall, Los Angeles becomes the last stand for mankind in a battle no one expected. It’s up to a Marine staff sergeant (Aaron Eckhart) and his new platoon to draw a line in the sand as they take on an enemy unlike any they’ve ever encountered before.

Who else is excited about this film?

In anticipation, be sure to visit W.A.T.C.H. to view eyewitness testimonials from the first sightings of the enemy in 1942!

Battle LA stars Aaron Eckhart, Michelle Rodriguez, Ramon Rodriguez, Bridget Moynahan, Ne-Yo, and Michael Peña.

Battle LA opens in theaters March 11, 2011.

Movie fans, Life As We Know It is available now On Demand and For Download!

Juggling careers and social calendars, they’ll have to find common ground while living under the same roof. Josh Lucas, Christina Hendricks, Hayes MacArthur and Jean Smart co-star in this tart and tender romantic comedy directed by Greg Berlanti (Brothers & Sisters, Everwood).

Transition Into Veganism

As I mentioned earlier this week, I plan on changing my eating habits soon by becoming a vegan. If you remember, back in 2008 I decided to become a vegetarian. I led the lifestyle well for 9 months and then began to eat meat every now and then. Like Anne Hathaway, I was a a commitment-shy vegetarian. And every year at San Diego Comic Con, I watched Emily Deschanel talk a little bit about the vegan lifestyle at the Bones panel and knew that I wanted to live just like that one day! So this year, like Ginnifer Goodwin last year, I will start living the vegan lifestyle.

With the knowledge that I have gained since 2008 and since the desire to live a healthier lifestyle has become greater, it only seems fitting...right?

Well, I thought so after watching Oprah and her 300+ employees conduct a vegan week. The plan is to conduct a "Vegan Week" for the first week of the month, 2 weeks the next month, 3 weeks the next month, and finally make a smooth transition into the lifestyle. The non vegan weeks will be vegetarian weeks, with one free day if I feel the urge to eat meat or dairy. Well see how it goes! I am excited!

Not only that, but the news was just announced that two former McDonald's executives are opening a healthy fast food chain, Lyfe Kitchen (Love Your Food Everyday) this summer! The chain will open in Palo Alto, California and plans to have at least 250 restaurants nationally within 5 years. Oprah’s former personal chef, Art Smith and celebrity vegan chef, Tal Ronnen (catered Ellen DeGeneres' wedding) will be designing the menu.

I'm incredibly excited for this chain but since it will be awhile since the chain comes to the East Coast...I can enjoy Kaya's Kitchen in New Jersey, Blackbird Pizzeria and Gianna's Grille in Philadelphia, and Candle 79, Blossom, and Spring Street Natural among other vegan/vegetarian restaurants in New York City.

I'll also be visiting The Kind Life a lot more and its members' blogs such as With a Heart Full of Daisies, Little House of Veggies, and The Vegan Home Chef.

Food is just the beginning to this lifestyle change. I'm going to take up gardening, begin exercising regularly again (not just when I feel like it), looking into eco-friendly house products, decor, beauty products, and fashion lines, and taking "going green" more seriously than I ever have. I am going to start out simple with one of my favorite fashion stores.

On April 14th H&M is launching a new eco-friendly line of clothing, Conscious Collection.

The collection which is for women, men and children is made from environmentally - adapted and greener materials such as organic cotton, Tencel® and recycled polyester. H&M’s designers have been inspired by different shades of white, one of the most important colours this Spring. A minimalist, tailored look is combined with romantic lace, Broderie Anglaise, frills and draping.

For those with deeper pockets, be sure to check out Stella McCartney's Spring 2011 Collection.

Well, I am excited about making the transition and if you are interested in participating in "Vegan Week" for 1 week, 2 weeks, 3 weeks, or a month, stay tuned for more vegan related posts throughout the Winter and the rest of the year!

If you're already vegan, what are your favorite vegan meals and snacks? Who are your favorite vegan celebrities?

DVD Review: Beauty & the Briefcase

Release Date: February 8, 2011
Rating: Not Rated
Running Time: 86 minutes

Lane Daniels (Hilary Duff, A Cinderella Story, “Lizzie McGuire”) is a bright, ambitious journalist who dreams of writing for Cosmopolitan, her favorite magazine. She finally gets her chance to pitch her article, “Switching Careers to Find Love” to Cosmo’s editor Kate White (Emmy™-winner Jaime Pressly, “My Name is Earl”, “Las Vegas”) who enthusiastically accepts the idea, recognizing a potential cover story.

Lane’s editor gives her enthusiastic recruit some very firm, very simple rules: first, land a corporate job. Then, she must date as many eligible co-workers as possible! As Lane navigates her way through her new corporate world, she meets Tom (Michael McMillan, “True Blood”) and Seth (Matt Dallas, “Kyle XY”)…appealing, available: but how do they match up to her ‘checklist’ of ideal male qualities? Then Lane meets Liam (Chris Carmack, “The O.C.”): a dashing music producer working outside her office. Dating him would mean breaking the rules, and suddenly career and love threaten to collide.

Beauty & the Briefcase is the most enjoyable romantic comedy TV movie that I have seen this past year. Based on the book, Diary of a Working Girl by Daniella Brodsky, Hilary Duff leads and executive produced this film and is automatically likable as Lane simply because of her incredibly kind and positive demeanor. It is so easy to root for Duff in any role, as she is so extraordinarily charming. It boggles my mind that someone can be this charming.

Though stunning and sweet, Duff's character Lane still has battles to fight. She takes advantage of the ditzy blonde stereotype to get into the work force once Cosmo gives Lane her first assignment. Her work on this assignment can make her career or keep her at the freelance fashion writer level that she comes from. But Lane steps up to the plate and drinks cocktails at the bar while going on a number of dates throughout the week. Lane's enthusiasm for her assignment is really all that viewers can hold onto as Lane is clearly not prepared to enter the corporate world and we're not given knowledge of her former success and potential as a writer. Thankfully, Cosmo takes a chance on her and continues to do so when Lane bends the rules that her boss gave her. Once Lane makes her dating rounds, she ends up letting her heart lead her instead of her assignment lead her into the man that fits the bill.

Watching Lane's journey finding love in the corporate world was a fun journey to take, even though she took quite a leap in being very creative with her very first major assignment. Lane was aggressive in her approach and yet still respectable and smart in her approach, so thankfully it all works out. These characters are very well crafted and the screenplay is very well written. While the landscape of present day New York City and all of the on set visuals were beautiful, I did feel more connected to the screenplay than the overall film. The writing was noticeably fantastic.

Not only that, Duff's comedic delivery is genius and Lane's voice over narration definitely keeps viewers hooked! You never know what will come from Lane's thoughts or mouth. A favorite laugh out loud moment comes when Lane says, "I saw nothing. Yum's the word" when learning the ropes from her hunky new colleague.

While Beauty & the Briefcase can definitely be described as lighthearted, there are a very special lessons to be learned about love, expectations, and taking chances. For this reason, Beauty & the Briefcase is one of the most entertaining and captivating romantic comedies on ABC Family today.

Eric Roberts Will Star in Second Season of Web Series, Vegan 101

It has been announced that vegan and Oscar nominee, Eric Roberts (The Expendables) will star in Season 2 of the first vegan sketch comedy web series, Vegan 101.

Created by writer, producer, actor, vegan (since 1994) and animal rights activist, Joanne Rose, Vegan 101 launched online in mid 2009. The show consists of exaggerated parodies of veganism from all walks of life in various situations through stand alone sketches to combine both fun and vegan knowledge. The story lines will inspire others to see the comedy in aspects of their lives and may inspire you to go vegan.

There are 6 episodes in Season 1 (each lasting between 1:17 - 6:33 minutes long) and I've heard that there are 7 episodes for Season 2. The show pokes fun at the awkward moments that may come with being a vegan really well. I laughed aloud in episode 106 when one of the characters mentioned how they did not cast a vegetarian since that actor still had attachment issues.

Episodes 101 and 105, and 106 have the most mature comedy of all of the episodes, especially the last. If younger viewers are watching, I'd skip the last episode altogether. Episode 103 is reminiscent of a silent film and perhaps my favorite episode in the series. Based on how entertaining Season 1 was and as a former vegetarian who is planning my transition into trying out veganism, I am anticipating not only Season 2 of Vegan 101, but all of Joanne Rose's future vegan projects.

Eric Roberts is set to play Dr. Eaton Wright, host of his own TV show "Eating Right." You can catch the web series on YouTube, Funny or Die, Web TV, TiVo, iTunes and the iPhone. According to Tube Filter, Vegan 101 is expected to go for 50 episodes total and the series might be adapted into a New York and Los Angeles reading.

Vegan 101 received the Green Lifestyle Film Festival 2010 Green Apple Award and is an official selection at the LA Web Fest 2011.

DVD Review: You Again

Release Date: February 8, 2011
Rating: PG
Running Time: Approx. 105 minutes

For Marnie (Kristen Bell), high school was a horror movie, and her brother’s wedding is the sequel when her arch rival comes back to haunt her as his bride. Its nice girl versus mean girl in this hysterical reunion with the one person Marnie would really like to forget. And if that weren’t enough, Marnie’s mom (Jamie Lee Curtis) reunites with her own high school nemesis (Sigourney Weaver). Complete with hilarious, never-before-seen bonus material, You Againis one crazy comedy that’ll keep you laughing again and again.

YOU AGAIN features a brilliant all-star cast with comedy pedigree performances by Kristen Bell (Couples Retreat, Forgetting Sarah Marshall), Jamie Lee Curtis (Beverly Hills Chihuahua, Freaky Friday), Sigourney Weaver (Avatar, Baby Mama), Kristin Chenoweth (“Glee,” “Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue”) and Betty White (“Hot in Cleveland,” The Proposal).

You Again garnered a few big laughs but for the most part is what one would expect from a high school revenge film made in Hollywood. The premise is fun and realistic but the execution has far too many familiar cliches and exaggerated characters to completely appreciate all that this film has to offer. It aims to be something different than what we've seen before but in the end, this film still had potential to have so much more depth. It is amusing and intriguing enough to watch especially because of the incredible all star cast. I actually wanted more of Weaver and Curtis as they stole the film from Bell and Yustman. Though the slapstick comedy, mainly from Bell did spark quite a few major laughs and is worth the watch alone.

As for the characters...at first, it seems that all there is to Joanna and Ramona is vanity. But over the course of the film it is revealed that though truly successful in life, they have created the false image of who they genuinely are themselves because of regret and jealousy. It is all very petty on both sides. Marni and Gail get themselves into unfortunate situations because of unforgiveness, denial, and curiosity among other feelings. Then there's Marni's older brother, who is getting married to Joanna. I found it to be quite odd that Marni's brother is not the least bit interested in having a one on one catching up conversation with Marni before the wedding. He automatically assumes how she is doing and feeling and the only reason that I can understand this happening is because when you are in love, sometimes you only see what you want to see.

So the relationship between Marni and her brother could have had more depth. There could have still been a rivalry between the ladies even with him in the know, so to have him portrayed the way that he is does the character such an injustice. Although he isn't very bright, being engaged to a cheerleader when he was on the basketball team at the same high school and he didn't even realize they went to the same school until adulthood. There are some serious flaws in this story. The school wasn't that big. I went to a regional high school, never even went to a basketball game and I know who the cheerleaders and basketball players were. Anyway, the main characters are relatable in the general aspects, so the attempt is appreciated.

There were other aspects of the film that were done quite well. The
cinematography was beautiful. The transitions from the past to the present were smooth and placed in the film at just the right moments. The conclusion of the story was predictable but was still heartfelt as emotions ran very high once everyone was forced to face the truth. You Again is about growing up, owning up to your past, and taking responsibility for your actions in the past, present, and future. If this film does one thing, it definitely encourages people to face the truth head on. Great cast. Great laughs. Great message.

DVD Bonus Features:

Following Fickman: On Set With the Director - Follow director, Andy Fickman behind the scenes on the set of You Again! In this feature we not only see how much fun Fickman allows the cast to have on set but the cast also talks about how Fickman allows them to try different things and really experiment with their characters. It seems that he is a very easy going and open director. He knows what he wants and he'll get it done but with heart. That's what makes him such a fabulous director and that's why he deserves a special feature all to himself. Job well done.

Appearing in this Feature:
Cast Members, Jamie Lee Curtis, Kristen Bell, Sigourney Weaver, Odette Yustman, Victor Garber, Jimmy Wolk, Sean Wing, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Kristin Chenoweth, and Betty White
Producer, John J. Strauss
Assistant Property Master, Mark Richardson
Script Supervisor, Betty Bennett

Deleted Scenes - Director Andy Fickman provides introductions to the three deleted scenes, “Sharing A Room,” “Photo Album Memories,” and “Riding The Silk.” All of these scenes were intended to make the final cut of the film, but were ultimately cut for timing and pacing, thankfully. The first scene is an extended scene of Marni's first awkward night at home sharing a room with Joanna. In the second scene, the family is going through the family album when Joanna and Gail bond over being in a sorority while Marni is awkwardly trying to avoid this part of the conversation. In the last scene, the ladies are in ballroom dancing class as Gail attempts to ride the silk like Georgia did when she welcomed everyone to class. Thankfully, these scenes were cut from the film as they don't add anything to the story and are not really worth watching on DVD.

Ask the Cast - Jaime Lee Curtis, Betty White, Sigourney Weaver and Kristen Bell sit down to answer 3 fan questions which are about career preparation, a high school dance, and getting the lead in the school musical. Everyone's answers provide great advice...that is if you don't include Betty’s crazy ramblings.

Funny or Die - In this behind-the-scenes interview spoof, Jaime Lee Curtis, Betty White, Sigourney Weaver, Odette Yustman and Kristen Bell discuss the movie when things get tense between the actresses eventually boiling over into a cast fight. This spoof will definitely have viewers laughing out...and wanting to watch Weaver's hit, Avatar again.

Blu-ray Bonus Features:
Everything on the DVD plus…
* Blooper Dance Party
* Additional Deleted Scenes

Own You Again on 2 Disc Blu-ray Combo Pack & DVD February 8, 2011.
