“Hey. Rosie’s really working on you, right? We can do it!” – Danny
“Who?” – Mindy
“Rosie the Riveter.” – Danny
“That’s Taylor Swift.” – Mindy
“Who?” – Danny

When The Mindy Project returns tomorrow night, Mindy starts her fellowship at Stanford University! Settling in is really exciting until Mindy doesn’t exactly make a great first impression – which sucks because it was due to a miscommunication. Got to love those. Ha! At first, Mindy doesn’t want Danny’s help as she continues to settle in but she quickly realizes that accepting help isn’t a bad thing.

This leads to a double date with Mindy’s professor who also happens to be Danny’s old friend. You’ll have to tune in to find out what happens next (and get a clue from the promo photo above). Know that I said, “Oh my God” and laughed out loud at the entire dinner date. Guest star, Ana Gasteyer is hysterical and was so much fun to watch and if you’ve been following my reviews of this show for awhile, you know that physical comedy is my absolute favorite on this show.

Without spoiling anything more, I will say that I think what Mindy and Danny went through in this episode was a great example of the things we’ll do for the people we love, even when or especially when we know they may not believe in themselves enough to do what they want to do.

Back at the practice, Morgan and the sad souls he wrangles together are getting ready for the hospital basketball tournament. Only Morgan’s having a bit of trouble keeping his recruits on board. It was great to see Julia Stiles return. I wonder how long her arc is because it’s so much fun seeing her on this show. Anyway, Tamra got some solid relationship advice from Peter during halftime of the game and if there’s one thing to really appreciate and remember from this story line, it’s the words of wisdom Peter passed down to her.

What a great return for The Mindy Project! I’m excited to see what the writers deliver as Mindy begins her Stanford fellowship as her arrival was beyond the funny I could have ever imagined. It’s been awhile since I’ve laughed out loud like that back to back to back to back. Great jokes. Loved the physical comedy. Loved the character growth. This week was positively funny and I can’t wait for more.

Favorite Moment:
From the pun to the physical comedy in THAT scene. You’ll know it when you see it. Comedy perfection.

Favorite Quotes:
“Great! The one person who watched Space Jam quit!” – Morgan
